Auction draft

Eyes not spreadsheets
Because it's so easy to go through 17 lots of emails, working out who has bid the highest, then take that one out and look at the highest bid not by a person who's already won a bid and not on a player already taken?!

3 non-submissions, flyonthewall and Michael7777777 have now missed 3 rounds in a row so I am removing them from the game, meaning we're down to 15 and the following are now available again for nomination:

D Compton
V Mankad
D Martyn
WG Grace
P Mead
D Vengsarkar
T Alderman
M Ealham
P Symcox
J Gregory

slowfinger also missed, so ends up paying $1,404,000 for his player.

The following were drafted.

M Atapattu - slowfinger (default pick)
S Chanderpaul - silentstriker
A Flintoff - Eds
T Goddard - Simon
C Hooper - honestbharani
D Jardine - Marcuss
M Jayawardene - G.I.Joe
B Lawry - Pothas
H Mohammad - Blakus
D Nourse - NUFAN
K Ranjitsinhji - Somerset
V Sehwag - Himannv
M Slater - Nnanden
F Worrell - Noble One
M Yousuf - pskov

I added in 6 players this time: A Flintoff, T Goddard, M Jayawardene, H Mohammad, V Sehwag and M Yousuf.

The following winning bids were made: $1, $135,011, $299,900, $300,000, $300,002, $550,000, $600,003, $635,000, $820,000, $860,100, $1,000,400, $1,100,005, $1,150,000, $1,404,000.

Round 8 is for the 3rd bowler and the following are up for auction:

W Akram (Wasim)
S Bond (Shane)
A Caddick (Andy)
H Davis (Heath)
A Fraser (Angus)
D Gough (Darren)
C Grimmett (Clarrie)
A Kumble (Anil)
H Larwood (Harold)
S Pollock (Shaun)
M Sami (Muppet)
H Streak (Heath)
H Tayfield (Hugh)
H Verity (Hedley)
D Vettori (Daniel)

Will aim for a 6pm deadline on Wednesday again - hopefully I'll be able to get the results up as soon as possible so I don't get more criticism :p

Will also need the nomination for round 9 - the 5th batsman.

As usual, anyone who wants to know their budget contact me.

Appreciate the work you're putting into this Marc, can imagine that it takes a little while to sort it all out.

Very happy with Jardine, was one of a few players that I would've been happy in getting. Quite a few names there that I didn't fancy last round.
Don't tell me SS got Chanders for $1?!

International 12th Man
Marc, could you email me my budget left? I think I know, I just want to confirm that I have it correct however.

Can't believe you guys can afford to throw around 1 million plus on players at this point. I'm almost broke.

Getting Goddard means I now get to have the 5 bowlers I wanted, was either him or Flintoff I wanted that round to bat 7. Excellent for my team.

edit: also apologies, I think I accidently nominated a batsman.

LOL, good one..!!

Chanderpaul for possibly $1 seems like an incredible deal though..

Sehwag was my number one pick that round. Been needing an opener of that sort of calibre for a while now. Covered quite a few nationalities. Team looks like this for now:

9.
10. W Hall
11. M Muralitharan

marc, would be great if you could mail me how much cash I have left.

The Wheel is Forever
My weakest player so far is Lance Gibbs, so looking at some of the other teams, I am really liking where I am at :). Obviously, still a while to go.

Very pleased to get Ranji but at some cost I probably could've avoided. My budget's going to be stretched in the last few rounds thats for sure!
