Ashwin's streak and position

But the bowling attacks have a lot of absolute filth in the IPL.
Some IPL teams have attacks better than international sides imo.. but in general yes. Problem with evaluating players just with T20Is is the small sample size.

I actually think he's one of the more underrated ones. His ODI + T20 exploits make people ignore how good he is in Tests - not as good as he is in the shorter forms but in those he is already in the top 3 all-time..
Nah you've got it backwards. His godlike ability in ODIs makes people overrate him massively in tests. Virtually no one can do what he does in ODIs, but he's not even the best test batsman in his team. Lot like kohli in that regard.

This is a point that a lot of people overlook when judging Monty and Swann's performance in India in 2012. They bowled well but it has to be said they faced the weakest
Indian batting lineup in a generation - No Dravid, Laxman or Ganguly. Sehwag, Gambhir and Tendulkar clearly on the wane.

Monty never actually did well when he faced India prior to this series and all of a sudden he became a world beater.
It's also one of the reasons why I don't think Swann is the far superior bowler to Harbhajan that quite a few of the ENglish cupcakes on this forum think he his - Harbhajan produced some very strong performance against some excellent batting lineups. Swann tended to cash in against the weaker batting lineups.
Pretty sure in another thread at another time at some other galaxy, you would be arguing how Harbhajan is nowhere near as great as the Indian cupcakes on this forum think he is

Swann bowled well in India despite not growing up on those tracks. Against some good batsmen too. Mainly because he wasn't a spud.

I'm not saying those bowlers should average 14 like Ashwon. I'm just saying itd be good if they don't average 50 on pitches that apparently are spin friendly. Until they do I'm not buying that Ashwon isn't a gas illion miles better than Lyon, Craig, Moeen, Tahir, and all the other spuds that come to India and get tonked while Ashwon gets 13 fers
