Playing a weak side today which is welcome, because a few of my players are starting to suffer a bit in terms of PFL. After his match figures of 44.4-13-109-7 on FC debut, Prutton has slipped to lively

We're on a PAN today to make sure of the win, but Kepler, Turner, Caldwell, Prutton and Mclean have all been rested.

Edit: Forgot to mention that we lost the toss and are now bowling. Hopefully this won't last long.

End of Over 1: 1-2, runrate=1.00

On the 6th GFI in a row in OD, against a very solid side. Put in to bat on a green pitch, it's taken my lot 13 balls to score a run. Then they went hog wild and scored a second with the very next ball! It's going to be a long day.

End of Over 3: 2-0, runrate=0.67
Ball 2-1-2-0
Bromby* 1 (7 balls)
Liebenberg 1 (11 balls)

Meh, this is not going to go well from here. 8-1 off 8 overs, Bromby gone and Liebenberg with a majestic strike rate of about 7.5 (2 from 26). This was not what I had in mind when I told them to see off the openers.

End of Over 8: 8-1, runrate=1.00
Hinshelwood 4-2-5-1
Liebenberg* 2 (26 balls)
Platt 0 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Bromby c. Holt b. Hinshelwood 6 (FOW: 8/1)

"Think like England batsmen," I said. Well, they only went and took me at my word.

Edit: Well, this really wasn't worth effectively chucking my FC match. My top three batsmen are all out for a total of 13 runs, I'm 44-6 and am completely and utterly stuffed. Long day my arse.

Well, my opponent may have had some very good bowlers (and no real filler), but I maintain that I did not deserve quite the butt-kicking I received today. A first remarkable seam rating is no great consolation, either, since said seamers were unable to take even one wicket against a pair of mid-proficient openers on a green pitch on a cloudy and humid day.

Beard XI 64ao (37.1 miserable, miserable overs)
Clay Cross Cavaliers 65-0 (22.4 overs)

I wave my private parts at this result.

What looked like a very beatable target set by my guy's turned into quite a comfortable win.
Malinga won the toss and put us in to bat. Things started off horribly, with the loss of openers Donaghey (4) and Lay (1). However Fordham and Oakes came in and put a nice impression on the scoreboard. They held a steady partnership until Oakes departed for 65.Once Oakes was gone, there wasn't much more support. Impey providing a little help with 13 but the rest failed to get into double figures. Impey now gone 4 wickets fell for 5 runs. Fordham lasted throughout it all and ended a superb innings on 155* off 134 balls.
Malinga set a modest score of 262 had every chance of reaching it. Their top order put them well on their way with Mangweni (42) Becconsall (62) and Chikosi (44) all contributing. Now batting along nicely, spinner Patton rose to the occasion. He departed Liddell for 17 before demolishing their lower order, claimed a further 4 wickets including 3 ducks and a single to end with a 5fer (10-1-25-5)
Overall my strong players really pulled me through today, with both Fordham and Oakes having a fantastic game.

BEST Indies 262/9 (50.0)
Fordham 155* off 134

malinga the slinga 181/10 (44.0)
Patton 10-1-25-5

Easy pickings tbh, just ask Smythe.

Orders set to be v. attacking on everything, should be interesting.

I ended up with a tie in my OD game. Both teams got 306 runs. I would have rather lost, as it'd put me in second place in my league, and I don't particularly want to promote.
