Reed and Sandwith, after putting on over 200 runs together yesterday, crashed out after just a few overs this morning. 306/6 now, and limping to the 4th batting point is just about all I can hope for.

Pretty dull stuff. Headed for a draw I reckon.

Do so love it when I lose my best two batsmen in a double wicket. Anyway should win from here - they've only got two very good batsmen really and the rest are fodder.

158.1 3 Mackin to Kealey
That’s a good throw in but Mcmaster doesn’t gather it cleanly and Kealey scampers the third.
Thats his 150. A fine knock.

136 balls, one of the great innings, along side Snodin, and Julian Tapp (0 off about 60 balls).

Hmm - my idea to let them bat as long as they want, then block out the remaining time is not proving to be the best I've ever had:

End of Over 57 (14 runs). Beard XI: 194-3, runrate=3.40
Trail by 409 runs. (KFC Select XI 603-7 dec)
Tynan 11-0-45-0
Alshaun* 29 (62 balls)
Platt 50 (50 balls)
Last Wicket: Liebenberg c. Cronin b. Ellison 42 (FOW: 116/3)

Would still hope to hold on for the draw, but it would only take a morning horror session tomorrow to make it all a bit sticky. Ah well, at least my best bowlers have their feet up for Friday.

Had a hilarious days play today, opposing team scored 64 runs in 64 overs. Patterson cleaned up with crazy figures of 20-12-12-8, easily my best FC bowling performance so far.

Openers ran riot on the first day, scoring 249 and 251 respectively. Both are pushing on now, one just hit 50 and the other on 47 so yeah. Comfortable win ahead.

Ibstock Knitters: 299
The Heath CC: 372/8 (120) Mclean 153, Knight 65

Good performance from Knight and Mclean in particular, but fairly weak from the rest of the side. The tail has wagged well though (we were 297/8 at one point), meaning we can declare after the first over tomorrow, hopefully without losing another wicket, and get stuck into them. The draw looks most likely, but with humid weather tomorrow, all three results are still possible.

Denniston CC 15 (16.2 overs)
Towse 6/6, Khulekani 4/5

Whenuapai CC 1328/7 (203 overs)

Castle 4/318 (54)

will declare first thing tomorrow. will wrap the game up in the opening hour hopfully. aside from janes effort, henshaw's 100 was quite amazing due to the fact he is a 34 year old abysmal/feeble. heading into the innings he had 4 first class runs at an average of 0.57.

Prutton is on attacking and taking some tap, but has taken a couple of wickets which gives us a shot at winning this game.

A top order mini-collapse, with Janes and Bromby going for 13 runs between them, means I'm going down for an innings defeat. Don't understand why it seems impossible for more than one of my top batsmen to do well in any given FC innings against distinctly average bowling, but there you go.

End of Over 36 (1 runs). Beard XI: 125-5, runrate=3.47 (1st Inn: 286-10)
Trail by 192 runs. (KFC Select XI 603-7 dec)
