Very happy with those ratings, my first GFI of the season. Will Batstats that later.

Pummelling Withington now after a crap start:

End of Over 18: 100-2, runrate=5.56
Buckley 4-0-28-0
Dillon* 35 (36 balls)
Armstrong 53 (50 balls)

Last Wicket: Desouza lbw b. Hirst 8 (FOW: 12/2)

End of Over 18: 63-2, runrate=3.50
Mould 4-0-17-1
Kepler* 5 (10 balls)
Grant 23 (46 balls)

Last Wicket: Mclean b. Mould 27 (FOW: 52/2)

Need a big innings from Kepler here - the other guy is playing his England U19 RM bowler who kept it tight and got Caldwell in his first 5 overs. He'll be coming back in a couple and we really need to stand firm. No tail to speak of today - once they get down to no.5 we'll just collapse.

Don't like the look of this...

Jaffna Jets v Bucks Batters

Buck Batters 103 All Out
Andrews 47(40), Jeithoon 4/11(5.3), Granville 2/5(2), Sishayi 2/15(5)

Jaffna Jets 4/104(25.2)

Jaffna Jets Bucks Batters
Top Order: proficient respectable
Middle Order: proficient feeble
Lower Order: worthless worthless
Seam Bowling: superb respectable
Spin Bowling: superb proficient
Fielding: woeful woeful

Pretty easy win in the end. Annoyed we lost four wickets, but all four wickets fell to their spinners on a dusty pitch. Plan to get Jeithoon average below 10 is working well.

All attention to our BT cup match now. They rolled a team in my FC league for 90 odd. I don't think I have dismissed that side for under 400 in FC. So looks like it could be a real tough match, unless we have some real luck or they TIE or rest players. Will GFI and hope for the best.

Yep.

Seeing that the league will probably come down to you and Rickmansworth, I'm TIEing and resting two front-line bowlers. In fact, it's Buckley's first big match. You've got pretty much a full batting lineup to bowl at...my prediction is for you to hit 280 and my lot to limp to 90ao.

It feels like bloody ages since I last logged into CW. Must be at least a fortnight!

Going okay against Dagenhamshire on an uneven pitch, but will need a monster total to defend against an opening pair of batsmen totalling almost 400k BTR, one of which is England batsman Tim Cahill.

End of Over 37: 191-2, runrate=5.16
Seaman 9-0-61-1

Well I don't want to promote to I in OD, so I'll make sure I'll only get a playoff game at best.

Anyway never has a guy played above their ability as much as Dillon does, must be his tautologous name.

End of Over 43: 242-2, runrate=5.63
Hirst 7-1-39-2
Dillon* 120 (117 balls)
Armstrong 108 (120 balls)

Five overs later, and Hirst (6/46) and John (4/45) have brought on one hell of a collapse, taking all ten wickets between them!

242/2 to 259ao.

Still don't think my batsmen are going to top 100 against Summers and co.

UPDATE: Perry gone, then Sandwith for a golden duck. May not even reach 40.

Bowled out last ball after six wickets in the last two overs. But I certainly would've taken this total before the match, given the adverse batting conditions and a far-from-rubbish opposition attack. Now to see if I can take a lucky wicket in the first 10, otherwise I've just got to hope that very defensive orders can at least restrict them a bit.

End of Over 50: 287-10, runrate=5.74

Janes* 72 (47 balls)

31/5 now, with one end completely open and a pretty poor batsman at the other.

Will my lot make it to 40 runs? Doubt it.

Another thumping victory for Scaly against Withington.

Appleyard 22 (35 balls)

A fabulous innings of 112* from 88 balls from Kepler has given us a fighting chance. Their batting is average apart from Mcfadden, so I'm hoping that Woods (coming on first change) will be able to create some havoc.

Damn it.

14.2 1 Summers to John
Edged through to Armstrong, but he drops a sitter. To make matters worse, the batsmen scamper through for a quick single. An uncharacteristic error there by Armstrong.
14.1 . Summers to John
Full outside off stump, nudged gently into the covers, straight to Callery.

Bloody hell, I won! Bowled 'em out, even, for a 50-run victory against a team with a miraculous top order. Awesome stuff.

Beard XI 287-10 (50o), Bromby 123, Platt 73, Janes 72, Macken 5-56 bt
Dagenhamshire 237-10 (47.5o), Tarry 94, Oleary 5-34, Pead 3-52.

Oleary's fourth 5-fer of the season, and now I'm one of three teams equal on points at the top of the table, with a 4-1 record. Of course, it helps that I've been able to GFI every single OD match thus far thanks to easy FC and Cup matches. :D

The Heath CC: 245/8 (50) Kepler 112* (88), Grant 56 (129)
Moses Majestics: 186/10 (48.3) Prutton 3/30 (10), Lucas 3/37 (9.3)

The Heath CC won by 59 runs

A comfortable win in the end, with most of the plaudits going to Kepler. Grant (comp/med) did well to stay in against U19 bowler Hall (10-1-17-1), and the bowling performance was disciplined throughout, with each bowler taking a wicket, and all of them going for less than 4 an over.
