Haven't been around for a while because work's been a bitch, and I've split up with my wife - So all in all BT hasn't been massively high on my list of priorities. It's been so far so good this season, but the signs are ominous. Despite still having a hundred percent record in all competitions, the wins have been much harder-fought than in previous seasons, and while I play a long game with my training, it appears that other Div.III sides are catching me up - In the short-term at least.
In four FC innings, have only passed 300 once, but still won both matches, yesterday's by eight runs, after following on 219 behind, and only having a lead of 95 to bowl at last up.
Last week I had a relatively straight forward OD win over Spaceman's XI, who'll struggle in our league, but this week will be tougher. Murphy's Sweaty Box eventually finished 2nd last season, after I gave up on the OD league, and their PAN ratings are very similar to mine - I'm Wond top order to their Rem, and their Qual Seam to my Sup, but other than that we're identical. So I'm GFIing, winning toss and bowling on an Uneven pitch on a sunny day, so don't really have a good idea of what's a par score. Their currently 142/1 after 30, which my gut instinct tells me is a bit ahead of the eight-ball?
I guess I'm pretty happy with my first team, and the progress they're making, but I don't really have the depth or quality of squad to manage PFL and consistently fight for honours in both codes.
