State Vice-Captain
Little Britain: 262/4 (50) Nolan 2/58, Woods 2/60
The Heath CC: 263/1 (42.5) Bartlett 126 (118), Grant 105* (124)

The Heath CC win by 9 wickets.

So stoked right now - this team beat me by 292 runs earlier in the season! The bowlers did a great job of containing their batsmen, especially in the last 10 overs where Woods was excellent once again. Bartlett and Grant pulled off another great opening partnership, with Bartlett playing all the shots (fourteen 4's, one 6) whilst Grant played the anchor role and made sure that he hung around until the end.

This result sees us leapfrog Little Britain into 2nd, whilst 1st place Fambridge lost to rejuvenated bots Batters Green Backs. Somewhat unbelievably after our promotion from Div VI last season, this leaves us on level points with Fambridge and in with a genuine chance of winning the league. It's very unlikely that I'd win a playoff, and I certainly won't be promoting automatically, but if I were to win this league in my first season in Div V... well, my cup would runneth over.

Unconvincing win over the (formerly) no. 3 side, poor bowling aside from Whitehorne's usual slog overs demolition. Top order didn't do much in reply, left it to Watkins and Ellis to save face. Still no. 1 though with a NRR difference of about two.

Mud Poodles 285/10 (50)
Whitehorne 8-51, Ellis 2-53

Asterix XI 286/6 (46.1)
Watkins 109* (101), Ellis 107 (111)

Been pretty happy with Ellis' contributions lately, especially when it comes to batting as I didn't think he'd be all that effective (strong/elite). Ratings on PAN quite a long way down from last week's GFI, not bad though. Pretty sure the opposition GFI'd.

Code:

Middle Order: wonderful proficient
Lower Order: woeful competent
Seam Bowling: phenomenal wonderful
Spin Bowling: exceptional remarkable
Fielding: feeble mediocre

Nope. Just poor management. :) Though not wanting to belittle, you do have 3 levels in seam bowling and 2 levels in spin behind. Though your batting is better!

I've only been playing the game 8 weeks longer than you. :p

You get those on PAN?

And I did admit that I managed my team poorly and I think I'm not even in the top 10 managers now but I only do it for fun. :)

BARNES OUT
12.1 W Keane to Worsnop
There is no sweeter sound in cricket than the sound of the bails clattering to the floor, so it's no wonder that Keane is pleased. Bowled him!

BARNES OUT
21.1 W Lambert to Higgins
The ball nipped back as he went for the pull and he gets a fine edge. Heads and Lambert appeal like one man and the umpire sends Higgins back to the changing rooms.

The great man falls 14 runs short of a well deserved ton. First ball from a non-worthless bowler, btw.

Since when did my team become a benchmark? I've nothing more than any of the other teams and never claimed to have.

Those ratings aren't accurate anymore btw, got wonderful for seam rating today not that it means much.
