A bottom-of-the-table clash for me -- there aren't any easy games in II.1, unfortunately.

Lost my openers very early, leaving me 6/2...and then Sandwith and Reed started blasting it -- at one point, the RR was up above 7! Calmed down a bit now, and it's 69/2 from 12 overs.

Hopefully those two will stay in for a fair old while and give me a good platform.

Woods and Westwood made a good start with the ball, with Woods having figures of 3-1-5-0 at one point, but his 4th and 5th overs went for a combined total of 19 runs, and the RR is picking up now, with no sign of a wicket falling. Not good.

Played a team who beat me last time around by 5 wickets...got up by 10 wickets after bowling them out for 126.

I've now won around 11 in a row with my only loss coming in a friendly where I played my second team...unfortunately it was the CW Battrick Cup!

Tough First Class match this week though...playing a team I lost to last time after having a decent first innings lead.

First Innings of: Bucks Batters 218 All Out
Andrews 115(126), Matharu 4/24, Punchibanda 3/47(10), Granville 2/53(9.4)

First Innings of: Jaffna Jets 174 All Out
Ellis 55(58), Allison 34*(70), Baddegama 3/21(5)

Happy with to lose this match, it means that I'm pretty much secured a playoff and avoided auto promotion. I don't really mind if I finish 2nd either, though that would mean I could get a gun side come down.

Hopefully this lose means this side decides to hang around in D3, they got some decent players and I was probably never going to beat them with the side I put out. Mind you they rested players as well. Next season I will have to play closer to full strength against them, if I want to win both matches.

Everyone is at sublime for Sunday as well.

Very much a slow pitch match for me today; few runs and few wickets.

End of Over 22: 59-2, runrate=2.68
Piercy 1-1-0-0
Farley* 19 (37 balls)
Muldowney 29 (73 balls)
Last Wicket: Hilton c. Bromby b. Pead 5 (FOW: 24/2)

Somewhat disappointingly, it looks like the manager of this team has stopped playing the game much; they've only logged in a couple of times in the last month. Disappointing cos they've been something of a bogey team for me (which makes 'em more fun to beat :)), and also because I was quite looking forward to having to fight for top spot this season, whereas really there's only been one match that was genuinely competitive, and that was the first of the season. 'Course, I say that, now I'll probably lose to a bot having rested a player too many. :-O

Hawes 6-0-22-0
Shaw* 1 (6 balls)
Holland 51 (92 balls)

Last Wicket: Falken c. Caldwell b. Patton 52 (FOW: 107/5)

Things seem to be going to plan should have them out in at least 10 overs.Anyway there total shouldn't poes trouble.

13 in an over for Withington as they crack on at a good ol' rate, albeit losing wickets along the way. Shaping up to be yet another thriller.

Meanwhile on Planet Beard it's hour 357 of the dullest match in history and the umpire has gnawed through his own trousers in boredom, as extras start to outscore the batsmen.

Little Britain are 180/2 at the start of the the last 10 overs, with Nolan taking a couple of quick wickets. Hopefully Woods can repeat his death-bowling heroics from last week again. If we can keep them to around 250/260, I fancy my chances. Unfortunately I'm now going out and won't be back till late this evening, so probably won't have a chance to check again until the match is over.

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 47: 160-10, runrate=3.40
Ross 8-1-14-4
Shaw* 33 (56 balls)

Took a bit longer than expected to get the last few wickets but kept them to an easily chased score.

My guys really want to get this over and done with. Lost a wicket on the very 1st ball and since then it's been smash, smash, smash:

End of Over 9: 75-1, runrate=8.33, reqrunrate=2.10 (160-10)
Alexis 5-0-32-1
Fordham* 34 (28 balls)
Becconsall 39 (25 balls)

Last Wicket: Manning c. Falken b. Alexis 0 (FOW: 0/1)

Managed to get online quickly, and very pleased to see that we restricted Little Britain to 262/4, with Woods taking a couple of wickets in the last ten overs, and we are now 71/0 after 11, with Bartlett going like a train. Looking good for another win...

All over for the Beards; shortly after my last post the opposition got bored too, and collapsed for 93, which was chased in 16 overs.

End of Over 16: 96-0, runrate=6.00
Finnan 2-0-11-0
Bromby* 42 (41 balls)
Liebenberg 53 (55 balls)

That pretty much nails on autopromotion this season, assuming I don't needlessly tank against a much lesser team. And with second place looking sewn up in FC and first place unlikely, that's pretty much it for my season. Might have to start playing the transfer market a bit for entertainment. :)

Bombay Blues 64 all out

Croft 4/10
Bardle 3/5

Boggles 65/0 (11.4 overs)

Abdul kadir 32*
Chanderpaul 33*

Ratings are what I expected them to be for PAN.

Code:

Middle Order: respectable quality
Lower Order: worthless abysmal
Seam Bowling: remarkable superb
Spin Bowling: remarkable useless
Fielding: woeful feeble
Hopefully with 4 bowlers being trained and 3 batsmen, the middle order ratings should continue to improve slowly but surely. :)

Nope. Just poor management. Though not wanting to belittle, you do have 3 levels in seam bowling and 2 levels in spin behind. Though your batting is better! :)

I've only been playing the game 8 weeks longer than you. :p
