What a circus...

I make 5k a week without attendance money with 850k so looking at a decent cup run to get enough money (i.e. 2m to get a decent allrounder) along with my league games. Should take about 8 home games & hoping to sell a decent YP.

making about 17K at the moment but that's because i've got maximum ITS so i've got rid of my youth investment. Balance is 620K

As in he'd be my best player in both disciplines pretty much.

Someone strong-strong-ish.

A bit like this you mean:

Max Lisbie (52694)
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, sublime
A destructive player with woeful leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: Scaly Piscine CC
Nationality: England
Age: 22 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 29,793 (+91)
Wages: £3,104 p/w

Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: strong Concentration: strong
Bowling: proficient Consistency: superb
Fielding: mediocre

He'll be med stamina shortly, destructive temperament (ie bat for shorter periods generally) and slower bowling means they don't need massive stamina because they bat for shorter periods. Close to quality consistency as well.

Oh and I'm making about 50k a week, will have 1.88 million in the bank next week. That profit will drop somewhat after the wage update and after I expand my stadium a bit. Still invest the maximum on ITS.

Edit: On closer inspection it's 43k a week I'm making before attendances.

Well he'll be getting superseded to an extent by the time PY builds up some dosh, I have two better bats already and he'll be 6th best bowler in a couple of months (I'll have two superb bowling 18yos, Cahalane will be strong-resp which is similar but he's better stamina, Pace and Dillon are already better). Even if I don't sell he'd still be pretty useful, just nothing special in my team. Anyway I'm open to offers...

Jamee had a bid on your player Derick but got beaten by time zones but i see Loxley sold for over 1 mill and then you bought Lea damn Derick was a player that was ideal for my team

Next match dates
With a longer break between seasons we've had a number of queries asking when your teams will next play a competitive match. The first cup games for next season will be played on the 10th September, the First Class games will start on the 12th and the One Day games will commence on the 15th.

Further details regarding when players age, when wages are recalculated, when promoted or relegated teams will be moved into their new divisions and so on will be posted at the appropriate time.

good news but predictible

Pleased to get my batting back-up, a lot cheaper than I expected I'd have to pay looking at the recent market.

Meh, could be getting guys like this for next to nothing:

30. Richard Kerr £1,000 (Good Karma CC)
Plays for: Wollaton Select Stamina: mediocre W/Keeping: worthless
Age: 23 years old Batting: competent Concentration: woeful
BT Rating: 3,238 Bowling: abysmal Consistency: woeful
Deadline: 24/08/2006 18:42 Fielding: mediocre

I'll be off to Scrabble club then (I'm 55 wins 1 loss +9659 spread in the overall league there) so anyone on here is welcome to buy 'em.

What 2 levels less concentration? Like that's going to make much difference, they're both crap just one is 100k+ cheaper. The stamina difference is meaningless because of said crapness - they won't be batting long enough to lose fitness.

Err, didn't I read somewhere that the secondaries will be more important in FC cricket?

I would expect so, but the point remains that competent-med and competent-woeful are both crap. It's like comparing feeble or lower batting skills for tailenders - they're still all gonna get skittled quickly whether they're worthless or feeble unless the opposition is seriously crap or they've got uber-concentration.

So we don't all spend hours and hours scouring the various forums and sites etc to know the "optimum" player - some of us have a job and career which are more important than a game.

I know what I'm looking for in signings and after a long time looking for a batsman to allow for rotation (one where the difference in ability from the rest of the squad isn't that great), this was far and away the best option I found, so I bought him.
