Rayno 18 8241 Abysmal Proficient
Mills 21 13300 Worthless Strong[/size]
On paper batting looks weaker, but in reality the Respectables I had running around (Tebogo, Bullard) were quite useless. I really need to replace Arnison, Millard & Houlihan (in that order). Expecting a pop from Rayno (strong bowling) and Mcmillan (strong batting) so it'll look a bit better in a few weeks.

Current first choice side, sometimes wonder if the batting order is a bit out of kilter!

Heh, got a 265k bid for Ryan:

Age: 26 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 5,978 (-97)
Wages: £1,220 p/w
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: mediocre Concentration: woeful
Bowling: proficient Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: abysmal

I bought him earlier this season for 102k and he hasn't been trained, so a tidy profit there.

I am a little disappointed with no progress in the secondaries, that's mainly because the majority of my team now are youngsters, and their Conc/Cons take so frigging long to pop! Not too disappointed with slow progress in the primaries, steadily moving forward, and I'll have had another six by the end of the season. Stam is the big plus point, a leap of 22, so now I can proudly say that The Gurs have got the pie-stuffing monkey off their backs, and there's currently nobody in the first CI with worse than Med Stam. Fielding is still a little weak, I'm carrying a few duffers, but Greening and Patel seem to take most of my catches, so I'm not sure anybody else need bother coming out of the changing rooms.

Have a routine TIE game in the league tomorrow, though with the drop in fitness after last week's GFI, I'm putting out a full team to make sure there's no unfortunate mishaps.

Congrats to Adam and Nibs, sorry I haven't posted that sooner, except I've got a final of my own to prepare for don't you know!! My RL team turned over the favourites on Saturday, to reach the final of the UK Primary Club Blind Cricket Cup on 19th August - At Lord's no less! And yours truly took the catch to dismiss their best batsman, as they were 136 A/O in reply to our 159/5 (30) If I'm honest, it was hit straight at me at Square Leg, though it felt as though it was covered in lard when hands, chest and chin finally managed to combine to arrest its progress mid-flight.

Wow, good stuff Trev, good luck. Would be a dream come true for pretty much any cricket fan to be able to play at Lord's.

See, being blind does have it's advantages! I get to play at Lord's, and previously for the England blind team in Aus, India and Barbados, whereas if I could still see then I'd be tramping around the local league, facing pies off a frustrated school teacher, and having to listen to some crusty telling me about how he had trials for Glamorgan as a lad, and would have made it if it wasn't for his dodgy knee!

Other advantages include: Always being able to drink because it's never my turn to drive, getting to grope pretty girls breasts without getting arrested, under the pretext of letting them guide me across the street, as well as receiving the princely sum of £200 a month from the government, for my services to the country in the pursuit of blindness!

But thanks for your kind wishes, I'll let you know how I go on. A few years ago I fluked MOTM in the Lord's final - Alas not for my LHS artistry and guile, as the opposition rather unsportingly tonked me for 7/0/57/1! - No, I earned it for my gritty 20* in the face of adversity, which guided us to victory from a spot which was tighter than James' pursed lips when he reads this post! Though considering one of my team-mates scored 70, I guess he can consider himself slightly hard done by:-)

Later, Chris Harris!

Of course the down side of being blind is that you do stupid bloody things like put an extra nought on the end of the asking price for your Comp/Comp WK, and end up asking £2m instead of £200K.

I don't know whether to hope someone bids or not. I mean of course I'd love the money, but if someone's stupid enough to bid on him then I might get kicked out for irregular trading practices, like someone in my friendly league did. Adam, you're a Mod, I'm telling you in advance it was an accident! Mind you, if someone's that stupid then they're not likely to have two mill in the first place I suppose!

I assume you're both bidding on the same player.
Yea, the difficult thing is it'll be touch and go whether I'm back for when their deadline is up. I'm sure there'll be plenty more bidding anyway, just hoping I can get the player for a good price, maybe train them up a level and then sell them if there's a gun bat to buy in a little over 42 days... At the moment 1.4 million (plus 150k) just isn't enough to get a quality+ bat. Once you get to 2 million or so a lot of people can't afford to bid so that's where the value is, of course that mark will probably move to 2.5 million when I finally get up to 2 million, but I don't want to sell off any of my team.
