Good enough to make the starting XI and he'd be perfect for the last overs as my number six. Gonna save up some money, currently at £316,006. Not playing at home this week but the next 3 league games after that are so I'll be close to a million by then so I'll dip into the market and see what's out there.

Well, despite a bum training update, with nothing other than Noon popping to Woe Experience, all's still pretty rosy in The Gurs' garden.

I thought Paddy was going to give me a game for a while, as DrunkXI recovered from a dodgy start of 50/4, with a hundred run partnership between Bissmire 79 (125) and Muirhead, 38 (60). And A score of 250ish could still have been on the cards, even after Muirhead danced down the pitch to offer up Noon the first stumping of his fledgling keeping career. Gilroy showed remarkable discipline for a No.8, with his patient 17 (37) contributing manfully to a 37 run stand with Bissmire for the seventh wicket, which took the 3s to the brink of 200 - but Alas no further! Gilroy fell, literally, to a bizarre dismissal, when he attempted to play a sweep to a ball which didn't get up, and was given out LBW off his chest! Noting the array of talent which Bissmire had remaining as potential partners, he opted, sensibly enough, to give it the long handle, but succumbed to a breath-taking boundary catch from Wynne-Willson - To vindicate Vayro's decision to recall him as a specialist No.7 fielder. Bewers came back to mop up Prest and McKenzie, to leave DrunkXI to wonder 'If only!' on 199 A/O.

Yet The Gurs were far from their best with the ball, only spasmodically hitting full throttle, and periodically lapsing into a comfort zone from which the 3s found it simple to bump along at four or five an over. Curiously for a Dusty pitch, Bewers and Edworthy did the damage, the former with a miserly MOTM return of 7.4/1/13/4, and the latter with a slightly more flabby 8/0/39/3. Mullins disappointed by his own very high standards. Struggling for rhythm under his new 'Normal' orders, he scratched around for his 10/1/48/1. In contrast the spinners were tidy but little else, Bridges M unspectacular with 10/1/31/1, and Andrew ragged in his 10/1/43/1.

So an interesting run chase could still have materialised, but the 3s needed to get off to a flyer - However, the only things flying were Dobinson's deliveries, to the boundary! He lived up every bit to his donkey-esque name, shipping 44 from his five overs, as Gurs' openers, Greening and Mullins, helped themselves to exactly a hundred for the first wicket, inside 12 overs. However, inept as Dobinson undoubtedly was, the real blame must lie with his coach! At what stage did he think it would be a good idea to open the bowling to a Sup batsman with a 17yo Med LH spinner, with lively fitness!!!:-)

Mullins eventually fell to a sharp catch by Gilroy off Prest, for an agricultural but nonetheless effective 42 (37), and Staveley followed shortly after for 17, gifting a lazy edge to Ohara from Gilroy's bowling. But by that stage the damage was already done. McKenzie was able to re-exert a measure of control, but Patel had little to do in his run-a-ball 26, than sit back, enjoy the ride, and watch Greening complete his faultless century off 89 balls. Perhaps fittingly for a slightly untidy match, the winning runs eventually came from four leg buys, when Patel deflected the ball to fine-leg off his thigh.

He's worthless/worthless. The only thing stopping you scoring 15 an over agianst him was his med fitness

I switched my order around and forgot to switch the bowler thingies
Mind you i was never gonna win if you have a superb bat.

Could someone tell me if he's anywhere near superb, because if he isn't I'm going to give some of his nets to a new trainee.

How much have they been trained this season?

He's had two bowling nets for all of this season, plus a stamina net [irrelevant, I know] and probably a few weeks at the end of last season, though, it was only on one net. I re-did all my training schedule in the off-season. So he's probably had maybe 3 weeks on a single net, and 5 on two.

That's only a rough estimate, though, especially with the single nets. I kept little record of what I was doing last season.

Well there have been something like 5 training updates since the wages were recalculated, if they've had 2 bowling nets for all that time then they've had 8 nets-worth of training since the wages were recalculated. They were around a quarter of the way up the level when the wages were calculated, so anyway they should pop within a month if you keep training them. Approx. 2-3 weeks if the figures are right
