That's not actually possible if you put full ITS on him. 12 ITS in any skill guarantees you a minimum of mediocre.

My Cup game is getting interesting, a team with roughly the same quality batting but better bowling (due to having a National bowler) is 137-3 on a hard and fast after 27 overs (RR: 5.07). I'm already into their duff batsmen at one end but my proficient medium pacers who got smashed earlier will be on shortly, but I do have good death bowling lined up.

Reached that stage of the game where Battrick contrives victory for the better ratings. Sides would usually collapse at this point with a crumby competent at one end.

Nice start to my cup match, TIEing again:

End of Over 9: 26-2, runrate=2.89
Louis 5-0-13-2
Pie* 2 (3 balls)
Nott 14 (19 balls)

They've got their two best batsmen in at the moment, but should be able to keep them to a fairly small target, will be comfortable chasing anything under 250 I think. Should be able to TIE in the league for the next two weeks so I might have a pretty decent cup run this time, which is useful for gate receipts if nothing else.

So how come I've won games with lower ratings then?

It's common sense that the better side wins more often than not - just like in real life. You just have to accept that the other side is better and move on.

My cup match worked out perfectly, not just the fact that I had an easy win on TIE, but also because the other results fell the right way so I've probably got the easiest team left in the draw next week. Up to sublime fitness and over the moon morale, and should be able to TIE and win my next three matches at least, so things are going well now.

Anyway, my cup match:

Trespassers W 168-10 (40.3 overs)
Louis 3-26 (10), Poole 3-36 (5.3), Malik 2-35 (10), Ryan 1-19 (5)

Asterix XI 169/0 (33.2 overs)
Wynand 79* (112), Cuss 77* (90)

Code:

Lower Order: woeful woeful
Seam Bowling: respectable superb
Spin Bowling: mediocre proficient
Fielding: woeful feeble
My opponent for next round is pretty similar so I should be able to TIE, will rest Watkins as well as he's struggling with fitness again.

Spin Bowling: useless

League opponent this week is similar to that as well.

Cruised into round 6 or the last 64 in the NZ Cup. Although not as convincing as I had first hoped. Duggan got out for 68, and then Hamshaw followed soon after for 3, which shocked the hell out of me. Waddell remained at the crease on 79*, with Lennon as we reached the target of 176 after 29 overs. Wickets were shared around with each bowler getting in on the act. Finally my side gets to look foward to a home match. The side we're facing we should beat. They finished 5th in division II last season but were relegated after losing their playoff. Comparing our ratings from today suggests that perhaps my side should consider another TIE in the cup next week, although I don't think that we will.

I think that I might also change my pitch to Hard and Fast. Currently it is Uneven so I'm not sure if I'll have enough time to get it to H+F. Any ideas on how long this is supposed to take???

I changed my pitch from hard and fast to uneven in one day. Not sure how long it will take to do the opposite, but it will definitely be done before your next match.

Only two pops of note, one of note:

An attacking player with strong leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: worthless Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: feeble Concentration: worthless
Bowling: proficient Consistency: worthless

Bought him for 40k this week, when his initial contract runs out, I shall try sell him for a tad more. :)
