Well I won my match against the team who came first last season in the league i have now promoted into for this season pretty comfortably...

Cardsharps C.C. 10/210 49.5 overs
Ashton 70 (48)
Every bowler taking 2 wickets each

College Dropouts 1/214 30.5 overs
Kennedy 102 (81) not out MOTM
Vincent 86 (89) not out & 5 Wk Catches

College Dropouts Cardsharps C.C.
Top Order: strong respectable
Middle Order: mediocre woeful
Lower Order: abysmal woeful
Seam Bowling: competent respectable
Spin Bowling: mediocre worthless
Fielding: feeble feeble

Should be a bit more challenging next few weeks as im up against the teams who made those upsets in the CUP last weekend, unless if their Team Fitness is now stuffed from them playing GFI... I must have managed to get into one of the easier Div 4 leagues cause its been a walk over so far...

Wow. I was expecting to win my league match, but this was ridiculous.

Magical Ponies 2/358
Griffin 138 (113), Sutton 116* (92), Farmer 55 (73)

Gisborne Bomber 56 (15.3)
Dunne 4/14 (5), Chillingworth 2/28 (5), Giles 1/5 (2.3)

Erasmus the only bowler to go wicketless, though he didn't actually get to bowl, as Tedstone picked up 1/6 and there were two run outs. I had Griffin set on very attacking to see how he'd go, and I think he may just stay on it. Bit annoyed he got out though, cause it brings his average down to a pitiful 293. Happy with Sutton's century too, only the fourth in his career.

Anyway, ratings:

Gisborne Bomber Magical Ponies
Top Order: feeble competent
Middle Order: woeful feeble
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: woeful mediocre
Spin Bowling: feeble feeble
Fielding: woeful woeful
MOTM: Dunne

Another stupid MOTM.

Hmmm... I just noticed the ratings of the only other semi-decent team in the league, and they had a decent increase from last week

Code:
Larisa United
Top Order: feeble
Middle Order: woeful
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: mediocre
Spin Bowling: competent
Fielding: abysmal
compared to last week's of:

Code:
Larisa United
Top Order: feeble
Middle Order: woeful
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: feeble
Spin Bowling: mediocre
Fielding: woeful
Closer inspection reveals they have three bowlers (two of them spinners) with wages over 1,000, compared to my two (Canning and Tedstone, both very tired). Hence, I'm making my ground hard and fast instead of dusty, and I'm GFIing for the hell of it, especially since I won't be getting any other challenges in this league.

Easy win on TIE with nothing special happening.

Still looking for a friendly if anyone is interested. Might rest Mccammon for it

Also, crazy win against yet another bot.

Code:
Central Districts 2-396
Herd 198* (155) MOTM
Heads 140 (106)
Munroe 52* (39)

Waratah west CC 10-76
Bennie 3-11 (5)
Pryde 3-22 (5)
Kinda peeved Herd ended 2 short of the double, and we ended 4 short of the 400, but it doesn't really matter.

Opposition dragging the game out a bit just to be annoying and hit the bowlers PFL a bit more with the cup game on Sunday. They're 100-9 off 28.4 overs.

Edit 100 all out off 29 overs.

Dillon 5-4-1-4...

Chased down 100 all out inside 17 overs with no wickets lost. Don't think I've got much of a chance of finishing top of the division but I'm almost certainly not going to finish in the relegation zones. Quite happy to potter around in the top half of this division and concentrate on FC cricket next season and beyond really.

There you go Gaurav, beat Soupforks rather easily. The scorecard might look close, but we were never in danger at any stage. The highlights of the match were Abdul Kadir storming back into action with an incredible spell of 6/37 off his 10, and Karthikeyan hitting his second consecutive ton, guiding and pacing the innings perfectly.

If almost all the batsmen weren't on Normal aggression, we would've reached the target earlier. Also, Islam doesn't like the no.3 slot apparently.

The ratings on PAN were interesting:

Soupforks Citizens Erased
Top Order: competent competent
Middle Order: feeble feeble
Lower Order: worthless woeful
Seam Bowling: competent competent
Spin Bowling: useless respectable
Fielding: woeful feeble

Still in the cup, have another relatively easy opponent this Sunday.

An extremely routine victory today, all put to bed by half two. Actually found myself willing on the opposition's batsmen, just to have the merest smattering of excitement, but alas, it wasn't to be. Just hope and pray that I see off Dragnets in the return leg on June 30th, because another season in this division and I could seriously start to lose interest in Battrick.

Anyway, wasn't all bad, because, as I say, I won! They let me tickle their belly, rolling over for 131 in 40.5 tortuously slow and uneventful overs. All the bowlers shared in the wickets, but once again Med/Prof Mullins was the pick of the bunch with 8/1/20/3, closely followed by Bewers, 7/3/18/2, Bridges M, 10/3/16/2 and Edworthy, 5.5/1/17/2. Crick, in comparison, seems a bit pricey with 10/2/36/1! Numbers 4 to 7 in their order all made it past 20, but none went on to score more than 25.

The only fly in the batting ointment was Bennett failing for the second time to cash in on a run-fest, when opening against dross. He's had some really good cameo knocks at No.6 against decent opposition, but put him up against a pie-chucker at the top of the order, and he doesn't seem to know what to do. Perhaps I'm going to have to rethink opening with him against the weaker sides, but his Comp Stam should make him ideally suited to it? Anyway, he went for 14 (8) with just 28 on the board, to provide the match with it's only moment of excitement. But Noon and Patel soon snuffed out even that faintest flickering, as they larruped along at 6.7 an over to chase down the runs in 20.2. Noon notched up his six career half-century, and his fifth this term, with a cataclysmic 78* (66), which was all the more impressive for the fact that at one stage he was on 10 from 29 balls! Patel had little to do apart from watch in awe from the other end, finishing on 26* (47)

Ratings didn't make pretty reading compared with recent weeks, but then again they were never going to, considering I was on TIE, I farted around with the batting order, and I'd suffered a defeat on GFI the previous Sunday.

Now all that remains is to give Paddy a good paddling on Sunday, before returning to my evil plot for World domination.

V. Excited that I've just booked my stag do to Amsterdam, but V. worried about my RL cricket tomorrow. We're playing in a fifteen overs a side tournament - Not ideal for a man who makes NZ opener Richardson look expansive!

Off to learn a leg-side attacking shot, to compliment my cover-smear, Trev

Okay Hingster, I challenged you at your home ground. I probably won't be around for most of the weekend, and definately not on Sunday until after the game finishes.

Our ratings are pretty even minus your top order being way better than mine, I assume without Mcamamamon, or whatever his name is, it'll drop significantly, seeing as though he's a remarkable, but I doubt it'll drop enough. Saunders will pound my bowlers. Strong/Prof/Comp/Med/Med isn't good enough to contain him, not even close.

Anywho, see you guys on Sunday if you decide to accept.

I can't believe it! I forgot to to set it to bowl first. I won the toss and batted first. Unless my bowlers bowl their hearts out this is looking like a loss. My best bats got out for 0 and 1. :( Have to somehow post 250 to challenge.

End of Over 35: 135-4, runrate=3.86
Mcconnell 8-0-31-0
Wellens* 0 (1 balls)
Fettis 9 (13 balls)

Last Wicket: Fordham b. Crow 74 (FOW: 133/4)

The swines, I bet they're trying to score as many runs as they can just to annoy you as well.

I'm 5 down now and my batsmen are just blocking it out.
