the stars of whenuapai! i suspect i'll get carried but oh well...
Seamus Hamshaw - 22 years old, BT Rating = 24,469, (Superb Bat, Respectable Bowl)
If looking at Whenuapai CC's history Hamshaw would go down as the clubs best players so far in my books. 2915 runs at 83, and 46 wickets at 31. Often a reliable batsmen, although he has a lot to prove as a bowler. Slowly overcoming fitness issues at the moment. The clubs inspiration captain has a lot to offer this team yet...
Jason Duggan - 19 years old, BT Rating = 31,467, (Superb Bat)
With only 1573 run @ 131 to date, he has a lot of work to do to catch Hamshaw, but the general concensus is that he will. Consider the club's premier batsmen, isn't far off of reaching the quality mark. Very to get out, only dismissed 12 times in 26 innings, he is certainly a star in the making.
James Holmes - 27 years old, BT Rating = 11774, (Feeble Bat, Superb Bowl)
With 126 wickets @ 11, James Holmes is Whenuapai's number 1 bowler. Career best figures of 8-25, accompany 7 five wicket hauls. As well as that, Holmes has also proved a useful batsmen from time to time. Although he does struggle against decent attacks he has played some crucial innings. His highest score is 162 scored in round 1 of the season 2 cup, but his best innings is considered his 36* (32) against yodos yobos which saw the side score 210/9 after coming in with the score at 155/6. The game was eventually won by 19 runs after he took 5/32.
Jim Mutasa (English) - 21 years old, BT Rating = 12,749 (Strong Bowl)
Probably my sides most overrated player. Seems to gather unwanted attention on CricketWeb for having a Lion Kingisque name. But in saying that he has taken 80 wickets @ 12, whilst opening the bowling with Holmes
Ken Lennon - 21 years old, BT Rating = 14,448 (Strong Bat)
As really started to come on after a slow start to his career. 1844 runs at 68 including 3 100s. Has become increasingly reliable in recent times, after proving a real let down as a youngster.
Steven Sweeney - 19 years old, BT Rating=12,743 (Strong Bowl)
Many expect that in a season or two, Sweeney will become Whenuapai's premier strike bowler. Emerged from the youth academy the same season as Duggan, but he has taken his time in finding his feet. His 26 wickets have come at 18, but most agree, the best is still to come.
