Still in with a chance if you can get five tight overs out of Bridges m, get the required rate up to 7+. I assume Crick is your worst bowler, so 9-0-43-0 isn't a bad return on a flat pitch. There's also the possibility that their batsmen will run out of stamina and drag the run rate down, but anything under 7 an over in the last ten will probably be light work for the batsmen.

Hard to say whether Crick or Mullins is my worst bowler, Crick Is Comp/Med and Mullins is Med/Prof.

If I lose it's my own fault, I should have made Bridges M B4, and taken advantage of his superior Stam to bowl through. I put Crick there as I thought I could hide him in the middle overs while nothing much was happening.

They're not doing anything scary, but it's just relentless, unless I've got them four down before the last ten, I reckon my goose is pretty much cooked.

Not looking too pretty though at the moment.

Your lucky charm has arrived now though Trev. :)

But that didn't help matters, 11 off Mullins penultimate over. 54 required from eight, should be a cake-walk from here, unless Bewers can do anything with his last three, but I think it'll probably be too late by then.

Game over now, as Mullins ships fifteen from his final over to finish with 10/62/0 - Look on the bright side, at least I've been a
ble to answer the question of who my worst bowler is:-)

32 required from 6, goodnight Irene!

Won my playoff pretty easierly in the end. The seamers rocked their batting line up, then then top order criused to the target.

Ben Kingdom - 169 All Out

Puskpakumara 3/37(9)
Priyanta 3/31(10)

Apologies in advance if this sounds like a spoilt little fanny's rant when he can't get his own way - Because in effect that's exactly what it is - Though not wholly without justification, as I've been robbed! Not just robbed! I've been punched to the ground like a granny up against a Chav in the street, I've had my pension-book stolen, taken a couple of boots to the face and had a hand up my skirt for good measure!!

These are the ratings for the match in which I've just been humiliated , which included a record stand for my ground of 227, between two Comp batsmen.

Cymru Gurgitaters
The Night Watch
Top Order:
competent
mediocre
Middle Order:
feeble
feeble
Lower Order:
abysmal
abysmal
Seam Bowling:
mediocre
mediocre
Spin Bowling:
competent
useless
Fielding:
woeful
woeful

Now let's get one thing straight, I'm not *****ing about losing per se, more about the manner of my defeat. My opponents had a Med rated top order, I had a Med rated Seam attack and a Comp Spin rating, therefore one would presume that they'd be pretty evenly matched. So how come I don't take a wicket for nearly forty overs? And how come a really pretty low Comp batsman is able to slap my two very near Strong bowlers around with virtual impunity? Conversely, I had a Comp rated top order, as opposed to their Med seamers and Use Spin - So you'd presume that I'd have slightly the upper hand right? So how come I find myself 24/3 on a flat pitch, with a Strong a Prof and A Resp back in the hutch??

I know that they've got hardon-inducing Morale and the sort of fitness you can only get by drinking Shane Warne's Mum's lemonade, and that might even explain why they eventually beat me despite being a vastly inferior side, but it does not, and can not be allowed to be justification for the manner of the defeat!! That's total cack!

And Mark, no offence mate, but please just let me have my rant, as I may well say something I'll live to truly regret if you come back at me with you're usual "it's only a game and it's free stuff!" Yes it's free, but I'd gladly pay more if it helped to iron out idiotic anathemas such as this. And of course it's not just a game, if it were just a game then why the holy **** would we spend half our lives playing it and the other half talking about it on here? It clearly matters to people, in the same way in which RL cricket really matters to people, despite being "Just a game!". It is, in the main, a fantastic game, which makes it all the more frustrating when horsecrap like this happens. This result is not only wrong, it's also bad for the game and the two respective leagues. I haven't studied my new league in detail, but I imagine that I'll be one of the stronger sides in it, and I can tell you for certain, The Night Watch will get dicked on in my old league, making two uncompetitive leagues - Whereas, given a Morale and Fitness reset, The Gurs would have been able to hold their own in my old league next season.

Yes I'm a bad loser, but what's the point in even taking part in anything in life if you're comfortable with the prospect of losing? why even bother?

Later, Trev

To be fair Trev you had only apparently had marginally better ratings, if the sublevels are in their favour they might have better ratings in reality. Anyway yea you team will be a lot better than theirs with reset morale and team fitness but on the bright side you should dominate their division next season and you will get better attendances dominating a lower division than being midtable in your old division plus you'll get better ratings in cups and friendlies.

With YP's this week, is it worth waiting till the players age on Friday, and then pulling (before the next financial update on Saturday) so that the YP won't age? Or will the YP age anyway? Will we even be allowed to make YP's this week (for some reason I seem to remember that last season we just didn't get to make a pull, but that might have been because the new system was coming in)? Doesn't really matter I guess, since I'm not going to be using any ITS.

Edit: Hmm... my diary's updated, but Club Info says I've already pulled my YP, so maybe we don't get any this week. Or maybe Battrick's just being slow again.

Bought this guy for 33k:

25. Connor Barton (369962)
LH Batsman, LF Bowler, feeble batting form, worthless bowling form, sublime
An attacking player with woeful leadership skills and abysmal experience.

Plays For: Scaly Piscine CC
Nationality: Australia
Age: 24 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 6,089
Wages: £484 p/w (£710)

Stamina: abysmal Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: competent Concentration: feeble
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: proficient

Another number 7 type player, will probably get the stamina up to woeful for the time being, *might* give them a fielding net when the season starts and get their fielding up to strong (will take most of the season but should get decent secondary pops as well) - I'm hoping fielding is actually useful in FC games.

Think my friendly team tomorrow is going to be somewhat hopeless...

With the selling of Ridgewell i have a very weak batting lineup, with my only decent batsmen being Saunders and Allen to unfit right now.

Getting 80k interest is quite nice so i will probably sit on the money for a while. Ill probably try to keep a minimum of 2.3m in the bank and spend any extra money on buying respectable and proficient batsmen and bowlers.

Probably get one proficient batsmen first, then attempt to replace my bowlers with atleast respectable.

Hopefully ill be able to pull someone half decent in the first few weeks of next season, meaning i can take some nets off Allen and allow his fitness to increase a bit. Maybe even play a match or two!

You can get the 80k interest with 1.6m, so anything above that is excess unless you're planning a big purchase. May as well hire 10 FA's and use the extra 700k to buy a few players.

Well the way i see it. Is that if keep my balance above 2.3m i leave myself enough money to make a big purchase, and still buy a few players.

What would 10 FA's do though?

Adamc

10 FA's would give you 80k interest with 1.6m. I mean if you're planning to spend in excess of 1.6m on one player then by all means keep 2.3m in the bank, but if you're not then there's no logical reason to do so.
