Restricted a better team to 264-4 on a hard and fast pitch. That's a reasonably low score for a hard and fast, but they've a pretty good bowling attack and I got bowled out for 58 chasing just over 200 on a green pitch last game.

As I mentioned earlier, expecting little from Callery and Walsh - chances are at least one of them will get a duck.

Argh did something really stupid, forgot to set orders for my cup match so it's using the default which is a Normal instead of TIE. Should be able to get fitness back up fairly quickly since I've got bots to play, but it'll stuff up my league match next week which I'm almost certain to lose now. Also means Cuss is opening the batting so I won't be able to get his fitness back up anytime soon, bleh - hoping he'll get out pretty quickly actually.

End of Over 29: 144-3, runrate=4.97, reqrunrate=5.76 (264-4)
Gittens 5-0-30-0
Shields* 52 (74 balls)
Armstrong 53 (58 balls)

(I'm batting)

Could be a thriller, Shields is slowing up a bit (high stamina but abysmal concentration, I've seen him do this before) - which is annoying me a bit but not too much yet because the required run rate is easily manageable with wickets in hand. However their best 2 bowlers are bowling the last 10, so the capacity for collapse is always there.

im out of the cup :(, but then again i did TIE, because the guys rating were out of the park.

Sad Decadent XI Winning Eleven
Top Order: mediocre respectable
Middle Order: feeble respectable
Lower Order: worthless woeful
Seam Bowling: mediocre respectable
Spin Bowling: useless quality
Fielding: feeble mediocre

Hmm...i can concentrate on the league now...anyone want to play a coupla a friendlies?

Predictably lost a wicket 2nd ball of the slog overs, it was Shields tho who was batting ridiculously slowly for the past 10-15 overs. Need 60 off the last 9 overs.

Go after them, scaly, kick their arses :p
I think I've hit the part of the game where Battrick looks at the ratings and says, hmm OK time to just give it the best players regardless of anything else.

This is just absolute ball socks. Why bother having all the orders? Just give each and every game the better personnel.

And now as usual destructive bat out first ball - forget run outs they should just award them as wickets to the bowler because they're sure as hell not based on anything else.

Oh for crying out loud, stop the whinging.

If you don't like it, stop playing the game.
Why don't you stop whingeing? You're the one that posts 20+ a day, most whingeing because I or someone else bring up a perfectly legitimate complaint.

I didnt actually understand this acutally, basically is what your trying to say that the orders have no effect on the way your players play? or is that the team with the better ratings should automatically win or what?

I basically got the tactics mostly right, I had my best bowler take out their better/aggressive batsmen at the start, then had a spinner and other fast bowlers tie it up against the more defensive bats and with the high consistencies restrict them to a below par score. I was then chasing this score down quickly (lost a few wickets in the process, but I had a very long batting lineup to compensate for the extra risks) then my RESPECTABLE stamina batsman slows to a crawl before getting out in the 41st over, then follows the most ridiculous, unlikely collapse you'll ever see, I have 3 respectable bats score 7, 1 and 0 followed by 2 feeble bats score 0 and 8. Abysmal bat got out first ball as well. This is chasing around 6 an over - which is nothing on a batters' pitch and I lose 6-27 and fall 16 runs short. I should also point out I had the edge in experience as well.

This begs the question why even bother having superior tactics when the game is just going to screw you with this sort of bull at the end anyway.

Won my cup game, was a bit of a tight one though.

free-spirits 274/9 (50 overs)

Singh 5/49
Chanderpaul 3/72
Liyanage 1/51

Boggles 275/6 (49 overs)

Chanderpaul 112 (134)
Ahmed 68 (82)
Ghandi 25* (18) Key innings.

Boggles
Top Order: respectable
Middle Order: mediocre
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: respectable
Spin Bowling: competent
Fielding: mediocre

Played normal and only just won but I might be on the end of a flogging next round so shall be a TIE I think. The team is called '1.CC Brno', could someone have a look at their ratings and see what they think?I reckon they are similar to my side though slightly better and I don't want to risk doing a GFI if I'm going to get beat anyway.

Argh, really annoyed that I forgot to TIE my cup match because I absolutely thrashed them (291 runs) and my next cup match is a tough one which I probably won't be able to TIE.

Asterix XI 368-3 (50 overs)
Hera 180 (153), Cuss 126 (115), Wynand 27* (21), Gillete 17* (9)

Santos 77-10 (22.3 overs)
Badley 3-11, Male 2-15, Malik 1-5, Gillespie 1-15, Pollock 1-27

Code:
  	[B]Santos Asterix XI[/B]
Top Order: mediocre superb
Middle Order: woeful respectable
Lower Order: abysmal woeful
Seam Bowling: competent strong
Spin Bowling: feeble proficient
Fielding: mediocre mediocre
This is the team I'm playing next week:

Code:
[B]The Flintstones [/B]
Top Order: proficient
Middle Order: competent
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: competent
Spin Bowling: quality
Fielding: feeble
They've got one very good spinning allrounder (in the WI U19 squad) and another allrounder who was very close to the national team, and it's on a cracked pitch (at the moment) so it could be quite tough.

Every time something goes slightly against you, it's automatically a whinge and complaint that the game is rubbish.

Yet you make it out that I'm the one that's whinging? 8-)
