League fixtures are finally up. I'm in a completely different league to what someone worked out against teams that are infinitely better than I would have had otherwise, all the other teams bar two have an extra season on me. The usual shafting in the luck department from Battrick then as far as I'm concerned. Will try and have a good run in the cup to keep the team morale up whilst I try and figure out how to finish 6th.

You've got the world's second-highest wicket-taker in your league (Danny Charles), though he doesn't look very good, respectable at best. Must've been playing bots for two seasons.

Can't complain about my fixtures, though I've got probably my toughest home match straight up. Also have to contend with (probably) the highest primary-skilled bowler in the world in West Indies opening bowler Adam Janes, did OK against him when he was in my league two seasons ago but he's a much better bowler now.

Just lost our first wicket in the NT match v NZ, 67-1 in the 13th.

Hmm, no bots in my league but I think if I ever actually find out how to pick tactics rather than just doing what looks alright then I might be OK.

Should be OK to TIE first few game to get fitness back up too.

League looking pretty different next year, will be a struggle, real shame i lost that match because it's a world of pain now.

First up i get the relegated side who have about 5 or 6 BTR's much higher than any in my side but they managed to get hammered by the side who won my league ( i beat that team last time i played them) so have a decent shout against them.

Then i have the team that finished 3rd in my league, who are a decent side who improved a lot during the season (they beat me to end my promotion hopes in the penultimate game)

I'm pretty confident of beating the other two teams from my league Gavshak and The Trains.

From the 3 promoted sides, Gansfield look a better side than me, Lancashire Legends i should beat, but they have a decent spinner and Zenzul 5 looks like they will wipe the floor with me.

This is their rating in their last league match
Wonderful/Strong/Mediocre/superb/strong/mediocre

how much of that is fitness and morale i don't know

Zenzul got these in their post-reset friendly:

proficient/competent/woeful/competent/mediocre/feeble

So that's what they'll get in a league game on normal, before any likely morale bonuses later on. Hard to tell what their keeper is rating wise, competent-proficient batting presumably with high (superb type high) concentration, but the other two in the top three are strong and proficient.

Looks like we can now make YPs even if we haven't got any ITS to allocate.

Pete Underwood (414534)
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, respectable form, fresh
(respectable batting form, respectable bowling form)
A destructive player with competent leadership skills and worthless experience.

Plays For: Asterix XI
Nationality: West Indies
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 20
Wages: £250 p/w

Stamina: worthless Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: worthless
Bowling: worthless Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

Awesome. I've seen a few other YPs under the new system and they're pretty terrible as well (not quite as bad as the above though) so we're probably not going to get anyone decent without allocating ITS first.

(@superkingdave) Damn, if you had ITS to assign he could've been a very decent player. At least you can sell him, for some reason I don't think my guy will attract much interest.

I doubt we'll be able to add six levels (competent) to a respectable natural skill, otherwise there will be wonderful youth pulls. Still a bit confused as to how this is going to work, but it seems likely that there'll be youth pulls higher than proficient. There are a couple of 17yo respectables on the market already, so even if 12 ITS adds only two levels they will be better than any previous YPs. I guess if you allocate the ITS to only one primary you've only got a 1/3 chance of picking the right one, since it's no longer possible to choose whether to pull a batsman/bowler/WK.

I assume worthless is the start point, so it would only be 5 levels. I don't see why else the ratings would be there if it weren't to indicate some sort of effect of the ITSs, maybe not adding in the simple sense of the word, maybe more convoluted methods. I'd also be surprised if the ITSs had the same level of effect on the 7 skills, since you stamina pops in a lot less time than batting say.

You could be right, but from that screenshot it shows the bowling rising at pretty much the same rate as fielding, so assuming you can get competent primaries just from ITS then there will be remarkable players who would walk into any U19 team at the moment. I'm hoping it'll be a bit more complex than that as I don't really want to see teams suddenly dominating because they pulled a remarkable batsman or something.

It looks as though we'll still be able to get YP's every week, but only add ITS every few weeks. This will probably mean the market will become flooded with players who have a decent primary but worthless stamina and secondaries, which will be pretty annoying.

Difference is, I've seen Neil play and I'm not calling him anything which he doesn't freely admit to himself. :)
