Easy Win, no surprise, but still good to get a win after a stretch of loses. Not sure why i played PAN, but oh well. Happy with the top order rating, also happy with Ubaid getting my first ever hattrick to finish the innings off.

Thought i was up for a big loss today, that may still be the case, but i have them 97-6 on a H&F pitch after 28. Islam reduced them early on but Abdul Kadir has put in a great spell off 4-1-4-3, just hope it doesn't effect his batting

On the one hand, I'm languishing at home, ill :(

On the other, it means I can watch my BT game :)

Bowled NorfolkENchange out for 131, which I'm pretty chuffed with - if I beat them, it's 12pts clear with three to play, and massively superior NRR. I've GFIed, and he'd have been a fool not to do the same - he's pretty safe in 2nd/3rd, and this match was the last chance he'd get to catch me up.

I'm 95/8 now, with close to 30 runs added for the 9th wicket.

37 runs left, two wickets. I've got no chance, but that doesn't stop me hoping!

Hmm well still a good recovery from 69/8. More evidence for my 8th-wicket theory. :p

Most likely gonna get thrashed today, got Borderliners who I'm usually a bit better than (4-2 in previous encounters), but my crap morale and hence ratings will probably mean I'll get skittled for less than 150 again.

It's a good theory. It could be two games in a row saved by the tail - I don't know why, but I just don't seem to be prone to batting collapses. Well, not at the end, anyway - I still get plenty of England-in-the-90's style middle order trouble :(

50 partnership now. Eeek!

7 runs...2 wickets...7% battery capacity left on my laptop...

It's just like the Ashes. Not the current Ashes. Those are just a bad dream.

Probably the best batting ratings I can get on a TIE...

Bowling still has no depth past my first 5 or 6...

Big CW Cup match on Sunday morning, vs the College Dropouts, and Bardle's test against some of the best batsmen on CW. Hopefully he can get rid of the Kennedy brothers and/or Jayasuria, because, if those three go, it's pretty much a case of trying to bat solidily. Obviously Westhead will be tricky, but I've got to try and pull something off.

After the flashy dismantling of lacklustre opponents in recent weeks, today it was time for The Cymru Gurgitaters to show some metal against a Victoria Drivers side with plenty to prove after being condemned to a playoff last week. Okay, this match lacked the drama of a fourth-place decider, for which the neutrals had been craving, but make no mistake, there has not been a more fiercely competed match in IV.11 this season, despite the deceptively wide margin of victory.

The Vics opted to bat first, laying down a gauntlet on an uneven pitch which was destined to cause problems for everyone - With the run-rate only fleetingly straying above four throughout the entire game. Although one of those brief interludes came during an opening tirade from South African Burch and Ausie debutant Keehan, as they momentarily wrestled the upper-hand from Bewers and Edworthy to race to sixty in the first ten overs. But Leggie Bridges M soon applied the brakes, and Bewers eventually struck with the penultimate ball of his first spell - Producing a classical piece of away swing to lure Keehan into the edge, which was confidently pouched by Skipper Patel at second slip. With Keehan gone for 21, it fell to The Vics' middle order to build on a promising platform, but once again the only hands up were those asking to go to the toilet…back in the pavilion! Spinners Bridges M and Cash confounded the pundits predicting a seam-friendly track, by taking two wickets a piece to reduce the hosts to 112 for 5 after thirty, before a spirited rear-guard action brought them back into contention. Burch's marathon effort finally came to an end when he top-edged a pull to Cash at Mid-Wicket for 69 from 122 deliveries, but not before he'd added 35 with Mann. De Silva then did his best to marshal the tail with 14, but when Edworthy took his third wicket for thirty runs in the 46th, The Vics were left contemplating a glass half full with a total of 171 - Which could be defended, but should have been more. The other successful bowlers for The Gurs were Bewers with 2/27 from 8, Bridges M 2/25 (10), and Cash, 10/1/31/2 - Bent was once again conspicuous for the wrong reasons, turning in a comparatively disappointing 0/47 from his allocation.

With Division four safety assured last week, Vayro shuffled his pack, opening with Carey and Bennett and moving Staveley and Greening to four and five respectively. It was a move which so nearly cost him the match. Bennett can point to the freak nature of his dismissal as evidence that he possesses the luck - or lack thereof - of Best In Breed at The North Korean Crufts Show, but one is still left baffled as to the thought process behind attempting to reverse-sweep Northrop, a spinner with wages of six and a half thousand pounds, when he was on three in the second over? In the event Bennett top edged it into the sky, from whence it plummeted with unerring accuracy onto his Off bale. Sources close to The Gurs had suggested that Bennett's Concentration pop to Mediocre had secured his immediate future at the club, but tonight he finds himself transfer listed once more, for a reduced price of £1.3m.

Carey was less culpable in his dismissal, but equally inept, as he failed to pick a Northrop flipper in the eighth over, becoming trapped in his crease, plumb in front for just 12. So at thirty for two it was down to the two men in form to dig The Gurs out of the mire - And who could have dared to predict when Staveley and Patel came together, that by the time they were parted in thirty-four overs time, they'd be within nine of the finishing line. Patel notched up his fourth fifty in as many games, wearing the bruises and grinding out 68 from 112 balls in the face of a fierce and relentless Vics' bowling and fielding performance. Staveley provided the perfect phlegmatic foil, with a telepathic understanding with his Off stump, he left ball after ball - Only to launch into his trade-mark cover-drive when the delivery permitted. When West Indian quick Lisby struck a battered and tired Patel in front, Staveley had only to scorch the turf with one more drive to finish on 80* from 102 balls, Guiding his team home to 174/3 in the 42nd over.

Had a good win today against one of the teams there or there abouts in my league

Borders Batters 186ao
Abdul Kadir 6-39
Islam 2-28

Lancashire 187-3
Challinor 81*
McEwan 40
Abdul Kadir 39

MOM Abdul Kadir

ensures that i should finish 4th at worst, with 12 points in hand on 5th and they bottom team to play in the last game of the season. My ration now is 8-0-3, with 3rd and second on the the same and the top team on 9-0-2, so pretty close, but i'm playing 2nd and 1st over the next 2 weeks and will get hammered. (The team i beat today is in 3rd)

Maybe Tosh could inspire one upset win but two i dont think. Another season in IV beckons.

Gray 154* (126)
Mcmillan 70 (97)

Anchormen won by 7 wickets.

MotM: Gray.

Great win. In my time in IV.48, I've never beaten dgaust (the Slips), and to win so comprehensively was good. It was Mcmillan's first game as captain in a competitive game, and for him to hit 70 and take 3/45 in a winning cause is great. It takes me to 3rd on the table, probably won't stay there but I'm pretty much guaranteed at least 4th spot now. Marvin Gray - love the guy. Got alright ratings, though I lost a level off my middle order because I switched Millard and Houlihan around.

Won the toss and elected to bat on a dry pitch that is expected to favour the spinners. Made a couple of changes today so hopefully they work out.

Bowled out for 221 which was a little disappointing, Makgale got 51, Lloyd 48 while Grady and Anstiss both got handy 30's. Somebody really should have gone on to make a decent score.

Decent ratings their, first time i got a competent rating in my middle without having played any of my strong batsmen down their. That probably means that my proficient bats must be close to strong. A bit dispointing not to get a double competent rating for my bowling, i played two proficient spinners, so i thought they might get competent. I guess to poor secondaries are the reason.

Very happy with the batting of Ellis, that his highest score. Also that Jeithoon best bowling, but he just ran through their tail, so i guess it wasn't that great. A bit disapointed with the bowling of my new boy, Sishayi (1/56), but he got the wicket of their 2nd highest scorer. Hopefully he doesn better this Sunday against Bobisback on the more spinner friendly pitch.

won my top of the table clash today, sending me to the top of the table and top of the div II promotion table. pretty sure i'll lose badly in div I so this is really concerning

Lost to the team a couple of places ahead of me which was quite disappointing. Bowled out for 221 after my top 4 all got good starts, their top order proceeded to do exactly the same thing except do it a bit quicker and with the loss of no wickets. My new wicket keeper made a brave rearguard of 11* while my new bowler returned with figures of 1/33 off his 10.
