Genius. :D

Getting pillaged in my game today, got rolled for 218 and they are 152/2.

I don't really deserve to be in the top division of India, I'm at least 20 points down on everyone else in BatStats from the Ranji. :(

BatStats on my league have gone crazy -- 7 out of the top 10 Div II teams in England. I'm the worst, at a lowly 15th. Bugger. Still, they're certainly not comprehensive stats.

I'll be even worse today, as I've only got four bowlers -- still not found a replacement for Verma. Brooker goes on sale next week, so I can get myself some serious funding. I'll be mainly trying to avoid relegation this time around, ready for a bit of a rebuild and a push next season.

Rattling along at 7 an over against probably my main challenger for second place this season. Lost a couple of usually-solid wickets, though, so need Platt and Janes to bat for a loooong time.

End of Over 15: 106-2, runrate=7.07
Otsemobor 3-0-29-0
Platt* 42 (37 balls)
Janes 3 (6 balls)

Was a bit bizarre really; scored 17 off consecutive overs, then suddenly stopped when the (rubbish) first-change bowlers came in. Now my best bat is scratching around for singles, and Platt's turned into Chris Tavare. Weird.

Got last seasons league winner 5 down, but my spinners are giving them easy runs as per usual. Pace and Summers come back for the 35th over, hopefully that burst will finish them off.

End of Over 20: 70-5, runrate=3.50
Dillon 3-0-8-0
Lewins* 38 (58 balls)
Kone 6 (21 balls)

Last Wicket: Gregory b. Summers 4 (FOW: 43/5)

It's a cracked pitch, I've got most of my batsmen on normal instead of attacking.

Good to see a lot of CricketWebbers dominating. :)

Lost by 21 runs chasing 325. Good ratings for me is encouraging, but I`m still pretty gutted. Four matches, four losses.

Moving along steadily, moved Packer down the order for strategic reasons. Obrien doing better than expected.

****, there's my season down the drain. Just got home and logged on just before the 15:10 deadline for match orders, turns out I have some worthless bowler in place of Whitehorne. Tried to change it but didn't make the cutoff, great.

Link me mate? :(

EDIT: Found you, will be cheering on. :)

The match is yet to start so there's the off chance that I was mistaken or that the orders actually went through despite being past the cutoff, but the most likely scenario is that I'm screwed. What happened was I logged on with a minute or two to spare, had a quick glance at the orders page, looked alright so didn't change it, went away to get something to eat, came back a few minutes later and realised I'd moved Whitehorne from his usual no. 6 spot but not moved the bowling thing. Meh, might still have a chance if my other bowlers do particularly well but it's a hard and fast pitch so probably not.

And one down without a run on the board, I'm ****ed.

Going to be an interesting final 10. They're 217-1 after 40 overs, I was 231-2. My best two bowlers are coming on, and their bats should hopefully be tiring. But it's a makeable run-rate, assuming their batsmen don't tire.

End of Over 40: 217-1, runrate=5.43, reqrunrate=8.70 (303-7)
Oldman 10-0-58-0
Hilton* 83 (101 balls)
Muldowney 107 (105 balls)

Oop, there goes the first wicket. Did I really want to take it, though, that's the question. Squeaky bum time...

Cheers :). By 'eck, 11 runs in it. That guy is a fair bit better than his ratings suggest. Good job I GFI'd.

And that's the end of the match. Beard XI won by 11 runs.
Beard XI 303-7
Sportal XI 292-4

I really need some bowling depth, I reckon. Got a nice run of home matches coming up though, so should generate some decent cash to fund a purchase.
