All Rounders Poll - Discussion

@Burgey I know you're a fan of Cummins and Border but rating them highly as all-rounders is stretching it a bit. Cummins, although he's improved in recent series, averages just 17.31 with the bat while Border, in 156 games, took just 39 wicket (0.25 WPM) at a rather expensive 39.10
You're entitled to vote as you see fit, but I'm just pointing out an aspect.

Am including captaincy, fielding, good looks, record and legacy here.

TOTAB merely chose to underbowl himself to give others a chance - he took 11 wickets ina match against arguably the strongest XI ever put on the park; while Cummins is already in the top 10 of the ICC AR rankings with a bullet, and will easily reach number one within a year.

I've added an extra column (WPM) to the table of results. Perhaps a relatively low WPM counted against Kallis in the first round. He still ranks 4th in the results.

@Coronis You hate the outcome yet your 3 nominations, when you voted in the first round, are ranked 1st, 2nd and 4th. Is your dislike of the results your reason not to vote in the second round?

I've lodged my votes for the top 3 all rounders in Test Cricket. Some may be taken aback with the fact I have overlooked Imran. He was an excellent bowler and a fine batsman. However, these skills weren't always on display in the same era.
Others may want to define an all-rounder. There is justification for considering wicket-keeper batsmen. However, I will ask voters to only consider players who were capable with the bat and who took Test wickets.
Hey @kyear2 just FYI - organiser of the this asked us not to consider what you've just done when it started.

I can see myself having to vote for Hammond and Goddard multiple times in a row before they actually get selected.

Hopefully Faulkner sneaks in this time. One vote loss last time bodes well but I worry a lot of people just don't really consider him at all and that all the same people who didn't vote for him last time still won't.

Each round there seems to be a greater variety of contenders. I keep having "I forgot about him" moments.

@Prince EWS Faulkner seems to be polling this round. Keep plugging for Hammond and Goddard (just as @Burgey does with Border and Cummins).

I'll probably be pushing the Greig case for a few rounds.

All very interesting and scope for a fairly deep list.

Kallis slipping to no.4 is great. I am quite satisfied with that result. Earlier when I did a Miller vs Kallis thread, Kallis was winning that but he lost this.

Oh sorry I thought I had.

Double sorry because Faulkner would have been on my list.
