marc stop confusing us, this is what the email said:

please make up your mind!
Yes, that is what your email told you, because that is how many you are allowed to keep.

Other people have had separate emails telling them how many they can keep, with that number being greater than 2!

so ur saying other teams can keep more rookies than others?
I would assume that is correct cause i can keep up to 3 rookies according to the email i received.

that's ****ing ridiculous! How much money did you put in though Si? I guess it has something to do with that, which makes it less ridiculous.

550 from memory, but i presumed that was just the cost of buying them...

it kinda ***** me cause i have to drop either a batsman with an average of 50+ or a bowler with a 4d sr of 42, for ND thats a big deal...

No, it is not ridiculous, and it is also clearly stated in the first post about Finances:

Youth development (max $750,000)– the more money you spend on youth development, the more likely new rookies you will be offered for selection (and the more you will be able to select) – as a guide, a manager paying $350,000 for youth development will be in the same position as under the present regime.

marc, in theory does that mean if i had of already had 2 great rookies with ND and i wanted to keep them both i wouldnt have been able to keep any of the extra ones too even if i had of put in 550k...
tbh i think this is a board issue, not exclusive FD issue...

That is the theory yes - but nobody except me knew how many could be kept until they'd submitted the money,

I did tell everyone quite clearly that they'd be able to keep more depending on how much they spent.

And to be fair, I did discuss this with both you and Blewy in the initial planning stages.

Hmm its interesting where the cut offs are then, if 750000 is the max and that means you can keep 4 out of 5 rookies, but for 550000 you can only keep 2 from 4. Hmm, makes for different tactics next year.

A question, will next years Rookies be separated in the way they are now? ie you get to know your first 2 rookies and then you decide your budget, then you get your additional ones?

No, next year you will pick the budget before any rookies are generated.

And there is no guarantee that the same bands will be used next year for number generated and number you can keep.

Just a question regarding the additional rookies. How many games will they have played?

I'm assuming the first batch of 2 rookies will be somewhere around the 30-40 mark like in previous seasons, will additional rookies have the same amount of games or less?

AFAIK, from talking to Simon, these games aren't mentioned until next season on the team lists.

Could we have a rookie challenge weekend or something where the additional rookies are teamed off and play 3 or 5 one day and four day games, so we can see what they might be like, just like we get to see our other rookies in the academy?
