So you'd rather have an inept forward line with the likes of Gardiner? Any forward line who needs a backman to save their asses (Hunter) should be happy to get Fev. Idiot or not, he can play the game and with the way the Eagles midfield will deliver it to him I reckon he will be a great asset.

Then again, why not stick with Gardiner who couldn't for the life of him know how to lead as a forward should in the GF?
I very much doubt Fevola would come over here anyway, tbh.

As for Gardiner, I agree. Its a massive shame he hurt his knee like he did, he was a brilliant ruckman. But then again, if he hadnt of, Dean Cox would have had the opportunitues he did.

Im sort of counting on Brad Smith (oldish guy, did his knee pre-season and hasnt played a game yet) who kicked a tonne of goals for Subi and Aaron Edwards, who looked the goods but needed more time.
In reality, we probably do need someone traded in, but I cant see it happening this year.

Few people remember that when Hunter went to West Coast as a youngster he was a full forward.

Thats true... boy, he can take a mark. He was the hero at Subi against the Swans, and very neally did it again last Saturday. Onwards and upwards for him, I love it :D

Silvagni could play as a very competent full forward too. Carlton didn't play him there often though, because they had a forward line.

And yes Gardiner was a good ruckman, but he can't play full forward for his life. He has no idea how to lead, and often misjudges the ball in the air. Fevola and Gardiner are both idiots too, its just one can play full forward and be a matchwinner, the other can't.

Richmond were interested in Fev I read in the paper a few weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything after that.

Hawthorn want a top 10 pick for Hay now.. But i'm not that sure he's really worth it tbh
Definitely not based on his form in the last 2 seasons, maybe in 2001/2 he may have been worth it, but at the moment he's just a 27 year old mid range defender, why have him when you could take an 18/19 year old key defended to develop for the future, particularly for clubs near the bottom looking to rebuild.

Kevin Sheedy you legend. He is an absolute genius, if i were gary lyon, id be embarrassed. The way the Aussies moved the ball through the midfield and out of the backline with the handball was absolutely electrifying, what a pasting.

I was very dissapointed with the Irish, they looked really flat and tired...when did they arrive? they couldn't still be jetlagged could they?

I think they were more complacent than anything else, and simply didnt do their homework. They were expecting big bodies and thought they could just outrun us, as soon as that broke down, they were cactus.

Hell yeah Australia won. Whipped them by 36 points. So much speed in that team. Deledio, Lovett, Brent Harvey, McLeod, Davey, Dale Morris (:D)... absolutely brilliant.

Hodge, Newman, Giansiracusa were all excellent. Really everyone did well. The spirit shown was what was the best thing, they were all playing for each other and looked to really enjoy themselves.

The draft is done. Collingwood with possible the most ******** selection ever, Dale Thomas at #2 and Scott Pendlebury at #5. This means Hawthorn get Xavier Ellis and Beau Dowler, whilst we get the best midfielder and best tall in the draft - Marc Murphy and Josh Kennedy :D :D

West Coast did well, too. With picks 13, 29 and 34, they got Hurn, McKinley and Spangher. I would say Carlton had the best draft, then Hawthorn, and West Coast did awesome aswell.

Top 10 -
1. Marc Murphy (CARLTON)
2. Dale Thomas (COLLINGWOOD)
3. Xavier Ellis (HAWTHORN)
4. Josh Kennedy (CARLTON)
5. Scott Pendlebury (COLLINGWOOD)
6. Beau Dowler (HAWTHORN)
7. Patrick Ryder (ESSENDON)
8. Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls (RICHMOND)
9. Mitchell Clark (BRISBANE)
10. Marcus Drum (FREMANTLE)

Hahaha how funny is Richmond's "Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls"? :D
