Don't care where he plays. He doesn't break the game open nearly every week and he's not a star, yet.

How can you compare Lockett and Ablett jnr, completely different players.

Ablett Jnr. - Not consistent enough to be considered a star yet.

You're judging Ablett on his possessions. How about we compare Farmer and Ablett this year on stats? You were wanting Jeff in the All Australian team, despite him only having four games where he got >15. They both play in similar positions.

I wonder how many Geelong games you've seen this year.

Not many to be honest, but in the games I've seen he hasn't looked a "star".

You're one of the few people I've seen who rate him as a "star".

You might want to talk to more people.

Apologies for storming the Aussie party, but I saw a rerun of the Freemantle v Melbourne game last night.. I've never taken AFL seriously, but it looked like good fun and I'll probably start following it once I learn about the game..

A question though, what purpose does the small area between the goal serve?

And if I was to follow a team, who are the front runners?
Go for the Kangaroos.

You can look at the AFL ladder here. The sides from 1-4 are usually the front runners, the sides from 5-8 are usually good sides, the sides from 9-12 are usually average sides and the sides from 13-16 are usually poor sides.

Also should be added that it's not like soccer. Sides that are good now probably won't be in 5 years time, and the **** sides at the moment will probably be good in 5 years time.

Yeah, so if you pick a good side now, don't expect them to still be up the top in 5 years.

If you want a good young side that's going places then pick the Bulldogs.

You might want to pick a Perth based team, as Perth seems to have pretty strong South African connections, perhaps? Fremantle are the upcomers, finally achieving some credibility after only starting as a franchise ten years ago, whereas the Eagles have been around for a bit longer, have had more success, and at the moment are certainly one of the two best teams going around (the other being Sydney), with clear daylight in third. In Chris Judd and Ben Cousins, the Eagles have two of the very best players going around, and they ARE playing in the grand final on Saturday.

Except Carlton of course.

In 5 years, Carlton will **** all over Kangaroos FC.

We'll still be absolutely atrocious next year, but after that we'll begin our climb up the ladder.

...to 15th

edit - because I forgot you guys are no longer North Melbourne
