It's the pursuit of lesser beings. It's very easy to execute to a mediocre standard which is good enough in pressure games when batsmen are shitting themselves. But when push comes to shove and a proper good batsmen has got his eye in, nobody goes "right then, time to attack with moeen ali".Easy to learn, hard to master. Like all true artforms.
To be honest, England has built quite a good choke reputation over the years in WCs.Had this been SA in place of England now we'd see the c-word 100 times in this thread.
Hey Borges, what's the worst destruction of a bowler you've seen? Richards vs Devon Malcolm?Wahab Riaz vs Buttler! I don't want to see this.
I meant the 'choke' word, lol. It's censored on here TBF. But people don't dislike SA all that much, if you'd said Australia instead, I'd have agreed with you.![]()

I'm not sure that we've been in a strong enough position in WCs to choke. Arguably 1987, but otherwise even our better performances have ended up being beaten by a better side. I think our chokes have been in the other one-day tournaments. To be honest, England has built quite a good choke reputation over the years in WCs.
Because Moeen Ali isn't a master of the art, duh. Harbhajan, Swann, Lyon, Mushtaq, Ajmal, Laker, Gibbs, etc. etc. have won many a game. It's the pursuit of lesser beings. Helluva long way to go from here. And there isn't much genuine batting after these two.Uh Buttler has started the usual Buttlering. Get him guys.
