nah. If anything, umpires give more borderline calls now. Back pre-DRS you'd barely get any 50/50 LBW decisions go the way of the bowler.

That looked out live to us, but that's because the front on view doesn't actually show us how far ahead the batsman got. There is a reason why the old adage 'get a big stride in' exists.

Yeah you're right. The stride forward is under rated when it comes to assessing decisions with the naked eye. I remember the 90's when so many matches were lost to terrible decisions. Kudos to the umpire for this one. Erasmus is one of the best.

ugh I'm going to have to stay up now. hate matches in England.
Im on the east coast in Canada now, matches start 5 am its a pain in the ass. I have to actually come into work early at about 7.15 so I can catch most of the 1st innings and all of the 2nd.
