Stokes is as good as balanced all rounders come. Capable of stone walling or or hitting out. Can pull out those magic spells and magic innings occasionally. Sure he's partial to the odd brain fade and he leaks runs but he can take it on with bat and ball. Bowls those long spell when the team needs it too.

Oh yeah, Broad and Archer have also been excellent.

I really am becoming a fan of Stokes though, would balance England's side perfectly if they had some good batsmen in the top order.

Key to the game is probably Bairstow, this pair will obviously have to do a lot of work tomorrow but they aren't going to put on 200 so the next man in has to do his bit as well and no finer time to do it than at his home ground in a huge situation.

A daddy hundred from Root is probably required for England to win this and it'll be a great watch if he could do it, but it is a pretty difficult task. Hopefully the Root symptoms don't show up when he's into the eighties in the morning.

I haven’t seen the England innings due to the football (the aforementioned Bury cast offs 3-0 win thank you very much). There’s nothing in the score to revise my opinion expressed before they set off that we have zero chance of winning. It’s a colossal amount of runs in the 4th innings. Good to see a bit of fight though. Slight aside, but I don’t fancy Denly on a bouncy wicket. He just doesn’t keep his eyes on the short ball ever.
