He actually got the 400 runs. Got a fifty every single match
Though in all of them (bar The Oval where Australia only batted once) they all came in the second innings. He did bat well but I remember in a couple of his 50's he did not look comfortable. Then again they were some very green wickets and England were bowling hand grenandes.

Oof that spun. Should just kick it away if I were Marnus/Bancroft as it's pitching outside leg.

The 77 off 62 balls he was looking amazing til I think he played that dinky pull that he kept trying that year. Was so annoying

He got 80 at Lord's didn't he? And Cardiff was a live Test (result wise) right until the end.

The 80 was the second innings when Australia were leading by over 200 runs or something. He threw away a certain ton in the first innings though by trying to go too hard against Moeen though. True re: Cardiff.

Actually pretty well batted with these two. Marnus is more comforting than any batsman not named Smith in the side, lol.

Really needed another one there, think this is probably done.
I mean there's still time for a collapse, but Bancroft seems to be handling Archer well and Labuschagne looks good. I felt as long as we weren't 3 down it would probably be OK, but I still think there's a twist waiting to happen.

Yeah it was the first innings I was thinking of, laid a really strong platform that Rogers + Smith then made full use of

Win would be a long shot from here but it’s not impossible.

Another ten overs of these two and it’s game set match though.

WI should feel rightfully salty that they lost Archer. He doesnt look like hes a rookie at all. Genuinely one of the more exciting debuts in recent times.

CWI is a total sh!tshow, though. Losing a world-class player was totally foreseeable .

Archer probably would have become a T20 merc if he stayed in the WI.
