I have included Bess in the team just in case Woakes , Wood , Broad , Anderson or Robinson are not doing that well during the day. You always need variety in your attack and remember these are Australian Conditions

I think so that Woakes should stay in the 11. Unfortunately Pope should be dropped to accommodate Bess (who can bat a bit - and also brings variety to the attack). Woakes looked good in patches both with the ball and the bat at the gabba therefore I think he should stay at bat as high as 7. Wood is a must ( when it goes flat , Wood is the man who has the extra pace to get a wicket out of nowhere and he also got out smith). Broad and Anderson are also a must under lights as the pink ball will swing consistently and that is when you wan't Broad and Anderson in the team.

1. Burns
2. Hammeed
3. Malan
4. Root
5. Stokes
6. Buttler
7. Woakes (Also very good swing bowler - important under lights in Adelaide)
8. Bess
9. Wood
10. Broad
11. Anderson
Because shortening an already **** batting line-up to allow for 6 genuine bowling options in a pink ball test is a genius move.

Leach got carted bowling perfectly ok, what makes you think that Bess will do any better. I saw a good bit of him in the lions game and he's still serving up the same tripe he was in India

A good offspinner will do well in Australian conditions , like Graeme Swann.
I'm not saying Bess is anywhere close to Swann as yet , but he gets nice revs on the ball and when he has confidence and is bowling well , he is as good as any English Spinner.

Reports for Australia is that Hazlewood might miss due to his side strain.
Confirmed

Bit concerning for the rest of the series (Jhye is a perfectly good replacement for this game), side strains usually take ages to heal IIRC

Bess at his best is a good bowler with nice revolutions on the ball

1. Stokes
2. Hameed

Maybe you don't need so many swing and seam bowlers - I think so Wood is required when it goes flat and Woakes unfortunately needs to go to allow for six batsman

Actually Bess is there for batting
so
. Stokes
2. Hameed
3. Malan
4. Root
5. Pope
6. Buttler
7.Woakes
8.Bess
9.Robinson
10.Broad
11.Anderson

Bess is a good offspinner , and he is not bad at all. All he needs is a bit of coaching to alter his arm position and the angle of his head (as well as a lot of hard work)(, and then he will be much better offspinner
