I DOn't know if it was at Eden Park, but remember when Lee hit Parore with a bouncer on one of the NZ ODI tours pretty early in his career? FMD it was one of the fastest bouncers I think I've seen collect someone.
You must be referring to this;

I'm torn on who to support here.
Well you can support arguably the worst behaved and disrespectful team in the world who consistently let there little man opener abuse the opposition or you support NZ. Would be interesting to know who cricket fans outside of Aus and NZ would prefer to see win this one

Going a bit OTT here.

Most neutral fans probably support NZ but that's generally the case when a historically weaker nation goes up against a powerhouse. OTOH I'm sure the IPL has earned the likes of Faulkner et al. plenty of international fans too.

Doesn't really matter, we're going to smash them. Southee and Boult 5 wickets each then Baz to chase it down in 3 overs.

Anyway, welcome to CW.

Also pretty sure James sutherland has told warner to pull his head in.

He's an idiot. Nothing is ever going to change that. Just so happens that he's one of our best batsmen currently.

Yeah it's a rubbish headline.

On this:
"I hope they come out and boo us and give us crap like they always do," he said.

Do NZ cricket crowds really boo the aussies? I can't remember an occasion. Obviously I'm quite aware of the booing of Quade Cooper but I don't remember it from a cricket crowd. I hope it doesn't happen.
Jeepers.

Like me claiming the MCG crowd has been well behaved over the years.

Never seen that from an Aussie fan before. I used to and occassionally still do get pretty heated up at the Australian cricket team. When I was a youth I wanted them disbarred from world cricket. Michael holding and company have some damning things to say about Australia during the Fire in Babylon documentary. But it is what it is. I have had it out with the Australian fans before on this message board about whether sledging should be a part of the game and it turns into me against 20 australians who all think that sledging makes the game more interesting and gives you more satisfaction when you succeed.
At the end of the day I don't think Aussie is as bad as the 1980s and as a result they don't really rankle me now.
I have a lasting memory of Craig McDermot ripping into Dipak Patel because Patel had the rudeness to play a forward defensive shot against his bowling.
I met Craig McDermott two years ago and he is a wonderful bloke who knows his reputation. He defuses the tension with Kiwis like me immediately and wins us over by saying "so you remember me I am the one who used to give your blokes a gobfull" and then you laugh and forgive him.

Remember two and this will upset the English but it wasn't Australia who brought the game into disrepute by unleashing bodyline on an opposition. And the fact that Australia suffered through that wins me some sympathy points.
But yes Warner is a gimp and punching someone because you thought they were wearing a beard should get you much longer than a two game suspension and I felt that the lack of severity in that punishment was an extremely poor reflection on Cricket Australia. Violence is unacceptable. I have made a long term bet that Warner will get "found out" in test cricket. I believe you can get him out quite easily by bowling at his off stump and frustrating him out rather than trying to nick him out by bowling outside off stump. The latter deliveries are money for jam to him as he is exceptionally strong through the off side.

Australia's aggression is here to stay I am just thankful it is somewhat manageable now compared to the days of Merv Hughes and company who were shocking ambassadors for the game.

So apparently Milne has been bowling at 80 percent the first few games of this World Cup, in part because of his injury during the Sri Lanka series. Been told he'll 'no doubt' bowl the quickest delivery at this Wolrd Cup this weekend. Big call but it would be a great watch. Lookout for the entire bowling attack to go after the Aussies with the short stuff too.

Bring on Saturday.

A very believable prediction because if you over pitch it will be six runs.

Thought something seemed odd with how he was bowling.

Really pleased to hear this. I was beginning to question his value proposition when operating at 139-144kms, which is effectively Boult speeds.

It was noticeable that he was 7-8 kms down since coming back from that latest injury. In the UAE he was pretty 148-152 every delivery (apart from his slower balls).

So he pretty much treated those games as warmups/fitness tests.

Hate it and love it at the same time.

So we left out McClenaghan and Mills for a guy bowling at 80%? Sounds a bit weird to me, hopefully Milne is 100% come Saturday.

There is no logic to support the decision to have played him on any level. Still it is done now. Let's hope Howsie's news is correct about him letting it rip on saturday.

Nah I can definitely see the logic.

Get the **** bowling. Prove his fitness. Have scouters think he's nothing special.

Unleash.

McClenaghan or possibly Mills if bowled up front would have given us a better chance of winning and winning the current match you are in without thinking ahead should be your only objective unless you have two games in two days or something.

I don't mind if you disagree with that because to each their own and you are entitled to your view - but that is my view,

Not sure if that's the smartest thing to do. Pitch it up and swing it. Australia finds swing harder to deal with than just pure intimidatory pace. The england ashes and south African series proved that.

The south African series moreso because we had one of our most incredible lollapse when Dale steyn got the ball reverse swingin'.

Shh! Stop giving away Australia's secrets.

Seriously, if there are any NZ bowlers reading this you should definitely try roughing up the Australian batsmen with the short stuff. It's a major weakness and you will probably get most of them out fending off.
