2024–25 NZ domestic season

But no I don't actually think they would do it. One of the hallmarks of their selection policy has been relentless faith in out of form bats.

Calling up randoms they rate seems to have little to do with gun domestic form either. They'd probably pick Finn Allen or Ollie White.

Test debut incoming for BJ Jacobs.

Also Mariu's strike rate this season is 75. Is that bazball enough?

A tennis player keeps two hands on his racquet more often than Conway is able to keep two hands on his bat.

He's never going to work on his red ball game ever again in his remainung career. Time to move on from him as a test bat.

He's probably going to retire from test cricket at the end of the summer anyway.

Too niche for the 'ripped of bowling actions' thread. But ... this Harris guy on FC debut for CD is an Ollie Newton facsimile.

Nick Greenwood's run out is horrible. There's a quick single there, but Robinson slips as he attempts to leave the crease and Greenwood gets sold down the river.

Good to see Fisher a) getting the new ball, b) conceding less than 2 per over. Other matches this season he's been 5th bowler and bled runs, maybe fitness was a concern.

The three very similar wickets looked good.
Seemed to be pigeonholed in the deputy Wagner role - which to be fair he did very well. Picked up 10 wickets bowling into the armpit. Looked great this morning, bowling quick and hitting a challenging length (though he was probably bowling a touch too wide from what I saw).

Mitch Hay with a patient 81. His FC average is even after 20 games still trending towards 50. He's probably still in the hot seat over Chu.
He should be playing NZ's next Test unless Blundell really pulls it out of the fire in this innings.

Yeah. I still think Blundell will need a score of some description next week to keep his spot after Stead shuffles off, but it's hard to say he hasn't earned his place for next week.
