2024–25 NZ domestic season

International Vice-Captain
Callum Samson who captains CBHS has been named in the Canterbury A squad, he's an allrounder, who will probably develop into more of a batsman who bowls.
He looked a good bowler on the streams, from the admittedly not ideal camera angle though.

In fact, I thought the pace bowling looked good from several of the boys.

Shipley could go from playing ODIs to not even a walk up start in a full strength Canterbury. Not that it will matter much, but you'd think Henry, KJ and O'Rourke would be first choice.

Yep, my son is the keeper in the team, so I've seen a bit of them, Ben Forrest the opening bowling is a big strong lad who gets it down reasonably quickly. They have a good 4 pronged seam attack, and backed by up an offie and two leggie's.

2 overs and a couple of good knocks for Shipley in addition to Jamieson getting through 4 overs. Looking like they might be out of the woods of injury come the Super Smash. Not that Canterbury truly require them.

Good to learn Jamieson is back. I see he turns 30 at the end of the month & just hope he still has the zip he had prior to this latest injury & can stay fit to be ready for the key 2026/27 series in Australia.

A 4-prong pace attack of Henry, O'Rourke, Jamieson & Sears assuming all fit is mouth-watering.

I see Henry just turned 33, so no reason he can't maintain form and fitness over the next 2 years.
