there was some stadium news:

a renewed pitch for a SCG drop-in, which is getting harder and harder to argue against

and craddock says the gabba will be the fifth best venue for the next 20 years with the development idea all but over. this is obviously wrong as canberra is also a better venue, as is drummoyne oval, birchgrove oval and north sydney oval

The MCG is still a turgid surface. They've just left more grass the past couple of years which has given the bowlers something.

Perth isn't anything to write home about either. Only the pitch for the India test was truly fast. And with the exception of the one against Pakistan, the fact drop in pitches barely deteriorate is still salient.

The SCG's problem is that the current groundsman seems to believe in the Les Burdett school of pitch preparation, and makes pitches as if he's trying to make AFL's case for them. If AFL wants it, then they should pay for the ground maintenance all year. After all it's not that much right?

Craddock is talking ****

The Gabba would be perfectly fine with relatively cheap upgrades in exactly the same way as the football stadium in Sydney would have been

The problem is that Palachook lost her mind when Brisbane won the Olympics and went from a refurbishment to a redevelopment with a budget of $1 billion that quickly escalated to $2.7 billion & would probably end up at $5 billion

SEQ could have several world class stadia for a fraction of that amount by simply upgrading the Gabba, Suncorp, Cbus, Heritage (Metricon) and building a boutique one at Redcliffe

But no …..

Not her money so why would she care?

Tassie now 3/19 after being sent in. Once again, why not cut the grass a little shorter? Also for some reason they've completely reshuffled their bowling attack, with neither Bell nor Stanlake - who took ten and eight wickets in the last match - playing.

They must seriously believe in him because based on what I saw, Konstas has a lot to work on IMO before being able to make it at a higher level

McSweeney out for nought. South Australia 3/0. Beautiful from Bartlett, but another failure for one of our 'up and coming' batsmen.

Queensland has picked Vidler in their squad and he wouldn’t be in the top 15 quicks in Brisbane but at least he’s just there for experience and not playing
