I think the worry is that guys like oneill are closer to mohammad abbas than McGrath in terms of pace..
They're not as tall or accurate as McGrath either.

Even Butterworth who was probably mid-120s was tall, extremely accurate and could bowl genuine outswing and genuine inswing beautifully, and he never really got on the radar.

O'Neill is similar pace to Butterworth but shorter, less accurate and just bowls 'wobble balls'. No meme repeated massive tons at #4 in the Futures League either. It's its very uninspiring.

Boland cleaning up and pushing for higher honours is fine even though he mostly bowls low 130s and doesn't move it in the air, because of his other attributes. But Fergus O'Neill doing it to me suggests something is wrong with the pitches, the batting or both.

Fergus is going to make you all look pretty silly when he clean bowls a fat pom (Bairstow?) with an unplayable rock with his first Ashes delivery and finishes with 400+ Test wickets. Looks the type to bang hookers all across England on tour too. Might marry an English movie star who knows

He doesn't even bowl 'wobble balls', or at least didn't in the BBL. Just the seam pointing straight. Yet he's averaging 20.

I feel like people under-rate McGrath's pace. Early doors he could sometimes get it over 140kmph and it wasn't until the very end of his career that he wasn't regularly over 130. The guys we're talking about are slower than that.

The simple fact is that for most of McGrath's career, at least the second half he was 130-135 kmh and the last couple of years more like 125-130 kmh.
He was successful doing this.
Other people may be able to do it too.

McGrath was tall, unbelievably accurate, and knew how to extract movement from otherwise dead seeming pitches. That's not necessarily the case with this lot.
