iirc in the bbl he's one of those openers with a notorious pace vs spin strike rate of like 140 vs 92 or something along that lineHas philippe always gone to the Alex Carey school of playing spin where you just sweep/reverse every ball and pray or is this a new development? He did it in the Aus-A stuff and has swept pretty much every ball kuhnemann has sent down to him today.
I mean tbf you expect most openers and players in general to have a better SR vs pace then spin in t20. Pacers generally bowl a ton more overs in that over 2-5/6 and 15/16-20 over period where the batsmen are going really hard. Still pretty shite that he's going at less than run a ball vs spin while set. One thing I have to give stoinis credit on, a few years ago he pretty much had to open cause he couldn't start vs spin, but he's fixed that.iirc in the bbl he's one of those openers with a notorious pace vs spin strike rate of like 140 vs 92 or something along that line
oh yeah that's absolutely right, i suppose i should have added in my post above - so it would track that maybe he's got an identified problem regarding spinners that he's looked to the sweep as a remedy forI mean tbf you expect most openers and players in general to have a better SR vs pace then spin in t20. 50 over cricket definitely his weakest format imoGetting spanked in South Africa wasn't enough for Neser he had to come and get spanked by WA too
The Marsh/JLT/Matador BBQs/Ford Ranger/ING/Mercantile Mutual Cup (probably missing a naming rights sponsor or two) really isn't in the front and centre of the selectors thoughts in this day and agePhilippes numbers for WA in this format have been gun for a good sample of time now, last 3 seasons he's averaging 57 @105. Personally thought he'd been way worse but he did pretty well last season despite the horror BBL campaign and shield. Would be ironic if he gets overlooked for a BBL star after Warner's retirement despite dominating domestic one dayers.
Gannon "bowled" with decent accuracy, good bounce, low pace, and a fair bit of elbow. So pretty much as usualHow did Cameron Gannon "bowl" today?
Yeah what he sends down is definitely state cricket standard. How he sends it down is of course another matter.Gannon "bowled" with decent accuracy, good bounce, low pace, and a fair bit of elbow. So pretty much as usual
Tall slow and accurate is genuinely a good recipe for success in most domestic cricket competitions around the world.Yeah what he sends down is definitely state cricket standard. How he sends it down is of course another matter.
He gets good seam movement too because of said chucking.Tall slow and accurate is genuinely a good recipe for success in most domestic cricket competitions around the world.
Although usually without the chucking
If this isn't a bait post for me then I don't know what isImagine getting out-alpha'd by a 20-year-old on debut. I hope Ashton Turner cries soy tears as he falls into a melatonin-forced slumber tonight before awakening to feast on some avocado on toast and meditate while his wife is c*cked by her 20-something personal trainer.
