Fantastic win by WA, Hussey and North's innings were fantastic not to metion a 40 odd not out with a few sixes from Voges which helped him and North see us home from a run-a-ball situation. Im so happy, top of the table.

W.A. backed up that good performance with a shocker. The lowly South Australia beat them by 98 runs in their latest ING cup game.

Not really. If VIC win with a bonus point, and Tas win either without one or don't win at all, then they will.

Victoria will need a bonus point if Tassie win. Then I think it goes on count back - who won the most between the two teams, then if that is even it goes on run quota. I'm not sure who has won the contests between the two sides. Still, for Tassie to lose to South Australia is a big ask, they are more than likely to get the bonus point too.

Victoria's job will be made all that more difficult with N.S.W. selecting Lee, McGrath, Katich & Clarke for the final game.

Lehmann & Gillespie will play for South Australia too. Haven't heard if Ponting will play for Tasmania.

i read otherwise in today's paper. and tassie cricket is not all that pleased. and if victoria and tasmania finish tied, vic will go in, as its one-all between the two sides and victoria has the better net run rate thingy. if crosthwaite hadn't bundled it, it would've made it a lot easier :@

Yeah you're right; I was just assuming he would because Tasmanian Cricket was beseeching his talents. Personally, I think he's an absolute prat for screwing them like that; just about everyone else is playing for their respective state side - his captaincy doesn't make him special. I think players like Ponting, Martyn and Adam Gilchrist to a lesser extent should really show some gratitude to the domestic sides that gave them a chance.

That is true. Tasmania need the win to assure themselves of the ING final. You have to wonder whether Ponting considers himself a Tiger anymore, considering he has moved to N.S.W. now.

I think SA could trouble Tassie this week with Lehmann & Gillespie back. Lehmann always seems to find form from nowhere when he returns to the domestic games, and Gillespie, well he'll trouble any batsman.

Pretty unhappy with our boys decision. I'd of liked to seen Gilly, Marto and Hoggy put something back into the state and turn out for a near full strength side. But meh, even without them we still beat Kyles' boys :D

Was listening on the radio, QLD had a bit of a self destruction - from 1/82 chasing 212 - to 153 a.o.

Ahh well, dead rubber, no harm done!

^To be fair though, the WA guys and Ponting wouldve had to travel away from home to play in their sides. The NSW, SA and QLD sides can keep their internationals at home, and still have them play.
