Still a choke if you lose by 1 run.

Have Eng finally entered the era of epic chokes ala SA or yours truly?

I wonder if they find out Bracewell's a 3d player triple agent after the end of this all?

One of the most incredible meltdowns in all 3 facets of the game, Bracewell should be honored with knighthood after this performance!

Which team is currently the best, in 2023?

Speaking of 5 test series - it's been 40 years since we last lost one in India! It's extremely rare/hard for good teams to lose series of 4 (or more) tests at home. The longer the series goes I'd say the better the odds in favor of the home team! So anyone bringing Ind/Oz record in Eng should...

Why don't teams use ODI fields with 4/5 back on the boundary? The way I see it Eng are playing in ODI mode, with just a fancy name to make it sound revolutionary!

    Why 'How's that'?

Because in India we use that term to bargain with street vendors selling fruits, veggies & what not - in Hindi or local language of course. The Brits were quite cunning/forward thinking in their approach 150-200 years back! How to bargain with the umpire

Which team is currently the best, in 2023?

I just hope they blow each other out & leave their squads in a mess for the WC :thumbup1: We need the second most important trophy in cricket, after the IPL of course, to come home every now & then, like an estranged child.

Really, is that why he avg less than 35 post the 2004 series? You could argue he was good against spin, anywhere in Asia, but great is pushing it. Player Span Mat Inns NO Runs HS Ave BF SR 100 50 0 4s 6s MEK Hussey 2008-2010 6 11 0 493 146 44.81 1120 44.01...

Hardly, in the series where he scored 500 we had 1 bowler - Harbhajan. His scores on similar surfaces with our full strength squad are less than flattering, you could say the same about Clarke. One good series doesn't prove they've been good/great in India, shock/horror right ? The broader...

And beyond that one 2001 tour he failed big time on flat wickets! If you'd listen to some of these experts from Oz you'd be almost under the impression that many of the former greats did brilliantly in India, except that's BS - Primary team Australia Opposition team India Home or away away...

In the first 4 tests of the summer the balls were dog sh!t, in our test it was changed at least 10-12 times IIRC. In SA series they got a good batch but SA batting is even worse than Ireland over there!

Depends on where he bats, he can easily avg 25+ in Asia, outside Asia I expect low single digits but he can definitely stay at the wicket in relatively benign conditions.

Yeah I meant he would get better in tests, but I rate Jadeja as high as Ashwin if not higher. His bowling cannot & will not be replaced. The corollary to that is the test batting standards are also going down further, the likes of SS/Root/KW & of course Kohli are last of their gen. Most if not...
