Top 10 prospects in each country

Neither does Glenn Turner. He has only bowled four overs this year for us. When we first signed him i thought he would play as a bowling all rounder, not as a specilist batsman.

It doesn't take a genius to work out that if player performs in 4-day cricket, he should be in line for a test spot not a not day spot where he might stryggle like Cumming does.

Cumming should never have been put in the one day team, He is a capble one day player, but nothing more than that. His ability has always been in the four day game, He averages nearly 40 in four day domestic cricket. But will never get a chance in test matches because he failed in the one day...

Just have to ride the luck. I like the luck Otago is currently riding, rained out when we were in trouble, now we are well on top against Auckland. Go the Golden one and congragulations to Gaffers.

Wellington vs Otago Otago has won the toss and will bat. The pitch is expected to get lower as the game goes on. 12th men for Wellington are Ian O'brian and one of the Parlanes. Otago will take the same team in.

Otago 11 is Cumming Gaffney Hopkins Redmond Wasim Wilson Todd McCullum McSkimming Scott McMillan SOme interesting selections espically Wasim batting in the middle order. Im glad to see Brad Scott back his bowling form was very good last season, and he adds some variety to the Otago attack.

    Ganguly's sixes

What about the shovel shot McCullum plays. Is that a yet to be named shot?

But they continue to give the South island hardly any cricket, when we have the best pitches in the country.

He is only 20, give him time. If he is this good as a one day player at 20, then im sure he will become alot better. But he is now going off.

When McCullum was picked as an opener he was opening for Otago.

Players who performed well in limited opportunities for their country...

Rodney Redmond one test 163 runs @ 81. With one hundred and one fifty.

3rd, 4th and 5th fastest bowlers in New Zealand

Wilson has decided to bowl slower to save himself from injury. If he tries to bowl as fast as he was last seaosn he puts himself at high risk of further back injuries.

Not the best keeper batsman, but the best player @ his number in the order. He wants him to be the most feared 7/8 batman in the world. I don't think we will be waiting for that long for McCullum to take over from Gilchrist, Gilly is 33 and he surely cant go on forever.

From what i have heard from a decent source McCullum in the future will feature in the top 6. But Braces won't put him up there until he is clearly the best player in the world in the position he is in.

3rd, 4th and 5th fastest bowlers in New Zealand

James McMillan when fully fit is quite quick. But he will probarbly never be fully fit again, Im pretty sure he now only limits himslef to his short run up.
