    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Ponting was out LBW, so I wouldn't worry about it too much anyway. Third umpires shoudl be allowed to over rule the on field umpires if a mistake is made. I am sure he would have known that Ponting didn't hit that, but all he could do was confirm that it carried to Strauss. Don't like that rule...

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! Ponting and Katich need to stand up. Hussey is in bad form, Clarke and North are good, but if they have a platform it's better. If Hussey comes in at 2/30 or there abouts, makes a big score, he has secured his spot for a while (at least the end of the series when you consider...

    Full Ashes coverage on FTA

Good to see (or should that be hear) Warne in the commentary box. Breath of fresh air, actually talks loudly, shows his great cricketing brain and isn't scared to state his opinion. Love hearing him talking up spinners and how a spinner should come on at this time and how the spinner should bowl...

England score of 425 make Englands batting look better than it was bar a few, but also makes Australia's bowling (more Johnson and at times Siddle) look better than it was. Congrats to Hilfy, wish he got that third wicket. C'mon Hughesy and Hussey.

Hope, when we get the last wicket, Hussey and Hughes both ton up. Obviously, I want everyone who get to bat to ton up, but I like Hussey and want him to retain his spot, and Hughes, because every Aussie loves Hughes, plus he lived not far from me before he moved to the big smoke.

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Especially when you 8 and 9 are good batsmen and you could nearly call Anderson capable. If he keeps working on his batting he could move up the order when the opportunity arises. Anyway, your past 400 now.

Any tips on how to make a leg-break spin more

Turn the wrist more. :p The run up, especially approach to the crease, is important, but not crucial. Read PitchVision there are lots of articles which talk about this. The hips and chest drive is important, as with many other things. I'm no xpert, I've only bowled a little but of wrist spin in...

Michael Hussey – Is his time up?

I really, really hope Hussey tons up today. Player I most want to see get a ton today, with Hughes.

Broad shouldn't be playing. Was he picked because he offers something with the ball or because he offers something with the bat? Either decision is a wrong one, IMO.

I need some bowlers to rotate then. I've got 5 bowlers only, then some allrounders who bowl ****.

So just because the batsmen misjudged the ball means it wasn't a good ball? I think the fact that he misjudged it makes it a better ball. If it didn't swing, it wouldn't have hit the stump as it did. Perhaps that is why Strauss left it in the first place.

The pitch is encouraging for Anderson. Anderson will be licking his lips seeing the ball swinging around

    *Official* Second Test at Lords

Yeah. Left Strauss in 2 minds, made a batsmen in good nick leave a ball a tad outside off stump and brought it back in a fraction to take his off stump. That's what every bowler is aiming at. Hitting the top of off stump. He did exactly that, and got through England's best batsmen of the innings.

Gone. Good stuff. Australia definitely has the upper hand here.
