Who is the best pace bowler of all time?

You're not old school, you're wrong.

    Should England forget about Trescothick?

England should forget about Trescothick in that they should make their plans for future tours etc with the presumption that he won't be around. If he does return in the future, it'll be a bonus but the management should (and probably do) assume he'll be absent.

Worked it out as soon as I saw it tbh.

    ***Official*** India in England

It's worth taking into account that despite the criticism of Karthik, he has been doing well opening the batting (an average of 55.83) although the sample size is a bit too small to make any conclusive judgement on his opening ability yet. Regarding Jaffer, he does have an overall poor record...

Bad over rates, a blight on Test cricket

Yeah same, not something that has ever bothered me. It can be a bit annoying when it's excessive, like a bowler taking 10 minutes to get through an over, but in general if the over rate is a bit slower than it should be to get 90 overs in a day, I'm not bothered by it.

Agreed. It would look better if the headline was just 'Rain denies England win' without the 'deserved' in there imo.

My top 20 allrounders of all-time

He still had an average over 20.

When was this? There was one shout off Anderson (I think) that looked like it hit his arm rather than the bat, I didn't notice anything else although I didn't watch the entire innings.

Can't believe India got out of this one. Some good signs and some not so good...surprising that Dhoni was able to curtail his natural instinct to that extent - I know he's done it before in ODIs but he was really stonewalling for a period there.

    Symonds speaks up for Murali

Every Boxing Day Test for the last few years bar 2006. Tbf in Tests I've only had abuse thrown at me in 2004 when India was playing. I've been to heaps of ODIs, copped abuse quite a few times, worst was in 2000 (or was it '99?), again when India was here.

    Symonds speaks up for Murali

Tbh I've experienced stuff at Tests as well, just chose to give an example in an ODI.

    *Official* Warne vs Murali Discussion

I've posted this before and it's a bit old now (although if anything, the difference between the two in terms of statistics would be greater now considering how good Murali has been lately), but this paragraph kind of dispels the notion that the Sri Lankan grounds are always a haven for...

    Symonds speaks up for Murali

Sanz, you could always come to a Pura Cup match. High quality cricket and none of the idiots who are at the Tests and ODIs.

You know what really grinds my cricketing gears?

Haha geez 'short shorts'...8-) Anyway, the debate with the whole wicketkeeper thing is that people aren't really bothered that Karthik is a 'keeper/isn't a 'keeper. The whole debate is about whether he's good enough as a specialist batsman, and whether playing him is denying opportunities for...

Ambrose vs. Lillee in Tests. Who was better?

I would use it as a point of difference - I would choose the 'new Bradman' in my team every time, because even if the real Bradman didn't have the opportunity to perform in India, the hypothetical batsman would have and would have done it well, which is enough for me to place this hypothetical...

Ambrose vs. Lillee in Tests. Who was better?

What are you on about? We're talking about a hypothetical batsman who is/was virtually equal to Bradman in every way (in terms of cricketing achievements) but also performed in say...the subcontinent...why wouldn't you rate this batsman above Bradman?
