    *Official* England in Australia (2 T20 & 7 ODIs)

Poor from Smith could have been there at the end with a handy 50 not out and some confidence.

Haddin was alright at 7 but he never really played any of those quick fire knocks that you ideally want from them. He played his best innings when he started opening for us and that knock is the one I'm guessing the selectors are banking on him producing again.

Australia - the aftermath of the Ashes

Marsh is definitely worth a punt, him surviving while the other batsmen fell to pieces ala the 4th Test is enough for me. Hes been good the last few seasons to suggest he is better than his FC average of 37. Hughes needs a couple more seasons to sort out his new technique.

    ***Official*** Australian Domestic Season 2010/11

Some strange reason he is good at T20 and FC but the one in between he struggles.

It's good having a youngster with raw pace, last one would have been Tait. O'Keefe does it again, grabbed 2 wickets in the one over.

Sounds like Tait will be okay, could be back for Sunday.

Been good pace by Tait but that last one was a poor ball.

Australian Discussion (Final Squad Announced Post #82)

Hes been awesome in T20 for a few seasons but that has translated into the same form in the ODI arena. ODI he seems to struggle to hit the gaps which means hes not rotating the strike and his strike rate is way below what we expect from him. And by the time he wants to up the strike rate he gets...

Australian Discussion (Final Squad Announced Post #82)

That was his best knock in Australian colours, the problem is he needs time to get in which is shown by his strike rate of 75.This is the match which concerns me http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia/engine/match/446957.html The closest thing we have to Hussey is Ferguson as mentioned already...

Australian Discussion (Final Squad Announced Post #82)

Good dam. And Marsh looks to be his replacement. Marsh called in for Hussey I can think of 3 that should have been ahead of him in Ferguson, Hodge and Christian. Marsh struggles to find the gaps and that is the last thing we need from our number 6 where he'll most likely be playing. His last ODI...

Yep solid top 6 if they are fit. Then you have Smith, Dussey, Paine and Hastings as the backup batsmen.

He was actually in the squad for the 1st ODI against England aka after the Ashes. Australia Squad - 1st ODI | 1st ODI: Australia v England at Melbourne, Jan 16, 2011 | Cricket Squads | ESPN Cricinfo

Australian Discussion (Final Squad Announced Post #82)

Injury stopped him playing more games. He was solid in his 2 matches, hes the closest thing we have to a line and length bowler atm. Siddle is a strange one, don't get why he was in the 1st ODI squad if he wasn't going to be picked.

Australian Discussion (Final Squad Announced Post #82)

I think you meant to say what Dussey has done to get picked. Averaging 23 this season and 33 last season.

What an innings by Watson and hes still hitting the boundaries when the RRR looks to be getting out of hand.

Geez that is happening way too often.

    *Official* England in Australia (2 T20 & 7 ODIs)

We aren't much better. Clarke and Ponting are out of form, Watson and Haddin are known for getting out after a start and the bowling is very hit and miss.

Now to figure out what to do with Tait's 2 overs.
