The end of the road for SA and my last thread on proteas.

Sadly he had a back injury. No doubt he is more effective than Ntini. Can bowl 150 easy.

    *Official* England in South Africa

Apparently Tahir is ineligible to play for SA. No reason has been given yet.

Parnell and Tahir have been added to the squad. De Wet has a back problem which is why he was only bowling 125kph on the final day and largely ineffective. Harris is great and I'm happy for the guy but Tahir has much more ability and variation. I think he's worth a try.

    India: Deserved of No. 1?

Seriously think it's just a competitive time in cricket with no actual better team which I know is foreign to everyone. Each one has their strengths and weaknesses based on conditions and have good form and bad form in a day. Recently Australia beat India, India beat Australia, SA beat...

    India: Deserved of No. 1?

India couldn't beat SA in their own backyard.

    Worst Nation of the decade?

Nothing really but it was toss up between him, Martin van Jaarsveld and Jacques Rudolph. The latter being better IMO. I can't think of another name. Bacher only went up to 1999. If I played another bowler then it would be Zondeki.

    *Official* England in South Africa

Game is done and dusted unless something record breaking incredible happens. Harris took 9 the last time he was at Newlands, no doubt he'll be effective on the final day.

    Morne Morkel

As I was saying. Thought he could have got more in the end.

Pietersen is probably more talented than Smith but talent is also useless if you can't use it correctly.

    Modern-day batsmen and flat pitches

Tongue in cheek. Hence the Gibbs reference. Read the headline and the first line of this article: http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/content/story/107615.html. Tongue in cheek again. IMO, Sehwag is class.

    Modern-day batsmen and flat pitches

Interestingly Sehwag debuted in SA and scored a hundred. Can't remember if the pitch was flat though. Edit: Oh wait, Gibbs scored a hundred in that game too so yes it was flat.

Top individual performances of the decade

Off the top of my head. It's hard to me to recall previous corkers after 2005. Ball of the century Mendis to Dravid (2008) Innings of the century: Gilchrist double hundred against SA (2001) Laxman's 281

    Morne Morkel

Only a matter of time before he gets a big haul.

The end of the road for SA and my last thread on proteas.

I think we forget that this team beat Australia away and beat them by an innings. They played poorly. England played better. There's only one pedestrian in the team and he'll probably get the axe for the next test.

    South African Domestic Season 2009/10

Bumpity bump. MTN starts again tomorrow.

    *Official* England in South Africa

After watching the highlights, no he's not a swing bowler and not as skiddy. He's a lot taller (around 6'2). He also can hold a bat nicely. It was great watching him seam it both ways. If Ntini isn't going to go next match (either for political reasons or because he wants his 400th wicket)...
