    Just how good is Ntini?

Because there's evidence that states otherwise? He averaged over 30 in the beginning of his career but then have 3 fine seasons to bring it to 27. His 28 now shows his age and lack of pace. Lee was a better ODI player but Ntini was a much bowler in tests. Lee never had the capability to run...

The pitch looks green. Odds on for England and Anderson to be effective.

    Just how good is Ntini?

Ntini wouldn't be as good if Polly was not building pressure on the other end. After Polly went, his performances declined drastically.

Kallis is playing... Revised South Africa squad Graeme Smith (capt), Ashwell Prince, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Mark Boucher (wk), Paul Harris, Morne Morkel, Dale Steyn, Makhaya Ntini, Friedel de Wet Morne also comes back into the side. I'm not sure if Kallis will...

He never embarrassed himself when he bowled for SA. It looks like he snuffed it to concentrate on his mediocre batting which is sad really. He's tall, gets bounce and movement and bowls a tight line. Oh, happy for Wiese and his 80. He probably could go on and scored his hundred, but that's two...

Albie is potentially better but he's poor on the day. At least with Kemp, he's not going to go at 6 an over every single damn time.

He looks lazy hence the dropped catches and weight problem. I think I want Kemp back in the fold. At least you know he's going to average 30 with the bat and ball. I'd take that right now. The current crop of allrounders except Parnell look hopeless.

    Goodbye Herschie

I think his form was affected by what happened off the field. He certainly had the potential to be one of the best openers for SA in all formats. Gibbs from 2001-2005 was unstoppable.

    South African Domestic Season 2009/10

Gino Vries. Anyone know who this guy is? He came out of nowhere and took 6 against the Titans and he's now working his way through the Eagles with impressive numbers. And why happened to Obus Pienaar. Is he injured?

Albie would have made a better replacement for Kallis I think. ****ty bowler but he can bowl his pies occasionally as a 5th bowler not as first change. His asset would be as a no.6 batsmen which he normally does for the Titans. Everybody else moves up a batting position and the balance is retained.

    *Official* England in South Africa

He was able to touch 145 against Australia and he has expressed intent to bowl quicker. That was before he got injured though so I don't know how quick he's bowling now. I think Elgar needs another good season before throwing him into tests. He's only 22 and he can wait. He was abysmal last...

But Rusty took 5 against New Zealand in his warm-up game. I don't know why that didn't propel him closer to a callup. To be fair, he is a good first class bowler but I don't think he has the potential as someone like Lopsy or Rusty who are tall and can bowl 145's when they're in full stride.

I don't know how de Wet leapfrogged everybody to get a call up. Rusty or Lopsy, selectors?
