Na Leach is so much better

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

All setting up for a Roy run a ball double hundred to push England towards victory here

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

With him being in bad form and having a funky technique I really wasn't confident about him getting himself back into form. Fair play to him for proving a lot of people wrong.

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

It in our favour to bat slow and steady ffs. Why go for the sweep when you've already got a (fluky) four off the over?

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

Wouldn't have thought it would be Root struggling to Lyon and Burns being the one playing him quite well at this stage. Good test cricket this. Lyon consistently bowls well without getting wickets, usually getting them in a cluster later on in his spell.

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

Obviously not definitely the case, but I can't help but wonder whether this is to do with his general fitness.

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

It was the most glaring selection in the team at least. Butler being kept in favour of Bairstow with Ali returning is also very, very bizarre imo, considering he is just about a no.9 these days. Roy at 3 is equally so. Big changes won't be made until after the series now I reckon but I have a...

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

Hameed? Surely the last thing an English batting lineup that has two of their top 7 averaging 10 for the series needs is an opener who has averaged 10 in FC for about 2 years

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

Overton isn't a horrible selection imo, nor is it bad for Woakes to be left out of the side. I think its more to do with his fitness than anything. He has played non-stop since the start of the World Cup (Archer at least got 2 test matches to rest), and hasn't been at his best currently. I...

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

Problem is we've now got two openers who have got a definite weakness against short pitched bowling. I'd wager they're both going to survive at least a little while before getting out (which is what we desperately want anyway) but there isn't great prospects for them to go on and get big scores...

*Official* India in West Indies 2019

Although he is absolutely massive, you can't imagine Cornwall's match fitness is that bad considering how much FC cricket he plays and how many overs he bowls. More about preserving the rest of his career I guess. Has he generally struggled with weight loss in the past or has he not really tried...

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

Though the inclusion of Marsh would lessen the workload of the Aussie bowlers, I don't see him making any tangible impact with the ball.(tbf I would have said the same about Pandya last year before he took 6 in an innings) and if the likes of Khawaja, Warner and Wade are struggling to score I...

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

Yeah if Pope comes in he bats 4 or below. Controversial opinion being expressed here, but I don't think Root has looked too bad at 3. Two ducks but conversely two fifties; one a typical 50 and but the other one ultimately being significant to setting up the finish in the third test. I tend to...

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

Definitely imo. Your no.11 is more likely to be exposed to high pressure do or die situations where they must either survive to draw the game or stay in so someone else can win it The same kind of pressure isn't on the no.10 who knows they aren't the last man and that if things start to get...

Starc, chameera, amir, rabada or Joseph

Rabada, Bumrah, Cummins and Archer the fab 4 of fast-bowling?

4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

This is a small thing, but I definitely don't think Leach should be moved up in the order like some of these posts are saying. He may not be the worst bat in the team (probably 9th best in the lineup when Broad and Anderson are in) but there is a genuine strategy to having your no.11 be a little...

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Yeah if it were any normal person police definitely would have intervened and maybe even held them for a night, but it almost certainly wouldn't have gone very far. Iirc the most significant part about the case was that the victims pushed charges and I'm not sure they necessarily would have if...

    3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Na, a major reason why Stokes even went to a court trial in the first place was to do with his fame. If the police went around arresting and sentencing every single person involved in a drunken brawl on a night out in the UK, then prisons would be ridiculously over saturated. Not saying it was...

    1st Test, Edgbaston, Birmingham

Na can't say it's a poor decision. No umpire in the world is giving that. It's moreso the ambiguity in what a shot actually is. I seem to remember Australia had a similar decision in the third innings

    1st Test, Edgbaston, Birmingham

Na I think just having that extra bowler would have made a huge difference workload wise. Worth remembering that this would also have to take into account his impact on the first innings as well, probably where the ball swung most for England. Stokes definitely wouldn't have had to bowl so much...
