Can’t see it ending well for Kent given they’ve lost Coles and are trying to force Northeast out the same door...

***Official*** 5th Test at the SCG

I wonder what proportion of English fans still watching this are trying to work out what on earth is possessing us to continue playing havoc with our sleep patterns to watch the Aussie top order have an extended net. EDIT: Wow, it’s nearly half my life since I registered on here. When Mason...

    Keeping Dhoni Style

I know that problem all too well... Assuming we're talking about standing up here, I have usually gone with gloves on the ground and backing myself to get up and cover/wear the one that gets the extra bounce. We were lucky enough to have Paul Nixon come down to Oxford a few weeks back to...

    Keeping Dhoni Style

That's a great question and one that's certainly given me a good bit of food for thought as a keeper and coach myself. It is probably the aspect of my (limited club level) keeping that is strongest, but even so it's quite hard to express what it is technically that allows this to work well. I...

    17th Match - England v Sri Lanka (26th March)

Would bite your hand off for 150 here. Does make you wonder, though, if we're not playing Liam Dawson on this, what's it going to take for us to pick a third spinner?

    Operation FITBOBEU

Go straight to the Level 1 course. I completed it yesterday and if you've got a good background in cricket you won't have any trouble.

    Should Mankading law be outlawed?

It's definitely different under ICC regulations than Laws of the Game. Under Laws of the Game you have to be spectacularly inattentive to get out like this; under ICC regs (changed after a WT20 when they realised non strikers were legally taking yards) all you need to do is stay in your crease...

    Should Mankading law be outlawed?

I've done that before. Was the first ball of a charity match, though. We decided it was going to be three strikes and you're out after that point if you weren't a regular cricketer...

    Query about youth play

It's the role of a coach / manager to ensure that this only happens as rarely as possible. The nature of the game means that it is going to happen on occasion - if your bowlers cut through the opposition in the first innings, then there's only a very small run chase to accomplish, for instance...

2016 Under 19 Cricket World Cup

Dan Lawrence: opening batsmen with a very un-English ability to whip the ball with his wrists through the leg side. Mason Crane: highly regarded legspinner who has already played regular CC for Hampshire - will have a major role in these conditions and need him to do well Sam Curran - only 17...

    Reading the scoring summary

Ahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahah. If you could point out where exactly I can earn £100k, or indeed anywhere near this, please do let me know. Urgently.

    Reading the scoring summary

You might be interested in reading the English Cricket Board's Fast Bowling Directives, which govern the number of balls a child or teenager is allowed to bowl in the course of a match or training session. PS: We'd say "balls bowled" or "balls delivered" rather than "tossed".

    1009*

Totally on the mark. Regardless of the veracity of the claims or the accuracy of the scoring, I don't see how it can be seen as an achievement to beat a bunch of children who are clearly well out of their depth. All that this is going to achieve is an albatross around the batsman's neck - as...

The low cloud around here is likely to make it difficult to complete the full number of overs in terms of bad light anyway. Required rate getting up and around 4 now; I *think* we have weathered the storm, however we are England.
