    2008 v South Africa (Pietersen's brief captaincy). Before that I think you have to go back to 1966 v West Indies - as in 2008, England had a new captain (Close); and before that was Jessop's match in 1902. Also, Australia did it in 2015.

    It was a sticky wicket (note that Australia also declared their first innings), England declared too late and only got one Australian wicket before rain ended play for the day. The next day was the rest day, and the pitch had dried out by the day after.

    I certainly ranked a few players higher because of their ODI performances (and regret not doing so more often). And Grace is a one-off, getting picked because he's so far ahead of his peers - no-one was suggesting (e.g.) Freeman or Giffen because of their great feats in 19th century FC cricket.
