    Commentating Standard thread

That's what happens when you only pick fast bowlers for the commentary team. But saying anything makes channel 9 look good, hang your head in shame. :nono:

Did any of the Great bowlers of the past chuck?

Charlie Griffith is the obvious one who comes to mind, aside from the ones who were actually banned. I do wonder if all those players who were banned would now pass inspection under the new rules.

    *Official* Indian Premier League 2012

What was with the commentators death-riding the bowler there?

Really? What are they complaining about? It has all been pretty inoffensive from what I can remember. Certainly better than the complete **** you get from Channel 9.

    CW All Time XI Spinner

Vote Warne. But only because Clarke was not an option.

Post in this thread when Michael Clarke does something outrageous and it works

There is something slightly creepy about that photo.

    Shaun Pollock

It depends what you meant by talent. He had a very good technique and obviously fantastic hand-eye co-ordination. He suffered a lot from lapses in concentration and poor shot selection. Does that make him less talented? Maybe his technique was not suited to succeed at test cricket. Steve...

CW All Time XI Fast Bowlers

Marshall and McGrath. Would actually like 3 of these guys in team though.

CW All Time XI All Rounders

Sobers is the only one from this list I would pick if I was just able to pick a team. Don't really rate the value of all-rounders but Sobers makes it as a batsman.

    CW All-Time XI Middle Order

This side was either a practical joke or just Bradman trying to cram his favourite players into a side. I can't believe that Bradman seriously thought this would be the best side to pick in reality.

    CW All-Time XI Middle Order

Ah ok. Not an issue for me as I would not pick any of them. I generally think of them as bowlers and there are better picks for me.

Warwick Armstrong, 'the big ship'. Particularly like the first one, looks like he is out to get **** done.

    CW All-Time XI Middle Order

Just occurred to me that pretty much everyone will vote in Sobers as one of the 2 all-rounders and most would have picked him as one of the 4 batsmen as well so the whole argument over composition may be moot.

    CW All-Time XI Openers

How does Sid Barnes not even make the list?

Was hoping he would drop the ball after lobbing it up.

Brad Haddin played a couple of decent innings against England. Bowling there was probably not quite this bad.

Maybe someone told Wade at drinks they were declaring as a joke.

Does putting all the fielders on the boundary ever work?
