Saker rates attack as good as great Australians

There are a lot of weird comparisons to McGrath floating around at the moment. There was something in an article a while ago "The inevitable comparison that falls to be made between him and Glen McGrath is as much a compliment to McGrath as it is to Van der Bijl." Considering he never even...

How FLAWED is Warne's list of 100 greatest cricketers?

Donald and Younis sucked against Australia (comparatively) and it was a personality clash between him and Waugh so can't say I am surprised. As you say, it is more a friends list than anything else.

Saker rates attack as good as great Australians

And Lee's average probably took a fair hit because he was being asked to play a role for a lot of his career. Steve Waugh in particular want him to rough opposition batsman up rather than get them out. It was noticable how much better he became after McGrath retired. He was finally bowling to...

    The Lost Generation

This is assuming the skills would transfer to test cricket. There are a large number of players who were very successful at first class level but failed at test level. Would think that there would be 3 or 4 at least who would underperform at test level.

Would Stuart Broad make the world's strongest XI?

Now all you have to do is make the case for why a World XI needs an all-rounder.

    Tactical retiring in T20

Cloning is clearly the sensible answer here.

    *Official* Indian Premier League 2012

He has some problems when the ball does not go in a straight line.

    Number one position

Some journalist rolls out this crap every second tour Australia goes on. Let's be clear, the worst Australian side to tour any country was from the mid-80s. Even for countries they did not tour.

    Reverse Swing

I believe that you have forgotten to take into account the position of the moon, which will clearly attract the ball towards it.

Who is the Finest All-Rounder to have Graced the Game?

I guess this settles the argument once and for all, right? Miller is clearly the best all-rounder and we can stop having these silly debates about it.

    Reverse Swing

You would have to change the seam angle to get it to swing the other way. Angle of seam is the most important factor in which way it will swing (if it swings). Might be possible with the same bowling action.

    Reverse Swing

You are not going to get swing with the new ball. For starters, both sides are in the same condition so how would you tell. You also need the two sides of the ball to be in different conditions to get reverse swing. It probably is true that the faster you bowl, the newer the ball can be for...

    CW All-Time XI

This is true of every bowler who had ever turned an arm over.

Any way of simulating an entire match?

Simulations are a bit of fun but all they really do is quantify the bias in the programmer's opinions. :p

    CW All-Time XI

Yep, people who have not seen him will judge him on his stats. And they are pretty much bullet-proof. I can't really think of any holes in his record which is a sign of class of the highest order, particularly when you consider the roads he bowled on much of the time.

The double standards need to stop!!

I think WW should take the banning as a compliment. It means that people are reading his posts and taking them seriously.

Did any of the Great bowlers of the past chuck?

I believe there was some discussion about requiring everyone to wear a splint on their arm whilst bowling.

Did any of the Great bowlers of the past chuck?

Nah, there would have just been some huge conspiracy to keep him in the game if he failed.

    India's Next Express Bowler-varun Aaron

Should just import them from SA, tbh. Works for England.

Did any of the Great bowlers of the past chuck?

Seem to remember Aktar having the same problem with his bouncer early in his career.
