Has Joe Root been under bowled this series?

Jack Leach has a much better strike rate and economy in England than Ali. Again though, Leach is just there to hold an end up without being overly threatening. Do you want an economical spinner or a wicket-taking one?

Has Joe Root been under bowled this series?

Ali dishes up so many loose deliveries. In English conditions, unless you have an outright wicket-taking spinner, you just want them to hold up an end. If we want wicket taking options, then Ahmed should be playing.

Has Joe Root been under bowled this series?

He is the most economical bowler out of both teams and is averaging 27.00 with the ball. He has probably been the best spinner bar Lyon.

    David Warner

Warner will probably “pick up an injury during training” and be replaced before Old Trafford.

Will we see a greater shift in momentum now that we move north?

It’s absolutely ridiculous, the ECB is hellbent on hamstringing England.

    Who’s batting is actually better?

England’s batting line up is ahead but they play far more risky cricket which makes games tight. Australia’s batting is nothing special, they are WT champions due to their bowling.

Faster cricketer to 1,000 runs ever!

Will we see a greater shift in momentum now that we move north?

The northern grounds have always been England’s fortress, their records there are immeasurably better than at Lords and the Oval. It doesn’t make sense why England play so much in London. Obviously, money plays a part but they are consistently better up north. Tough task for Australia now...

Doesn't only one of these people belong driving a tuk tuk?

It was clearly a reference to tuk tuk batting. I’m disappointed that you brought race into this, I expect better from cricket fans.

    Perfect Yorker.

I can’t say definitively who bowled the best yorker but after watching those highlight reels of the likes of Waqar, it is clear that batsmen have become much better at facing them. Batsmen of the 90s were bamboozled by yorkers but now people like Buttler will scoop them for six.

Top 20 greatest batsmen of all time

There is nothing “fun” about WW2 and this is clearly something you will never understand. When a nation is funneling all their resources to defending themselves militarily, cricket takes a back seat. This should be obvious to someone of moderate intelligence.

    England tour of Australia ODIs

England have basically sent an A team to face the best Australia have to offer. Let’s see how it plays out.

Top 20 greatest batsmen of all time

But you have to put facts and statistics in perspective. Almost 400,000 British cricket playing aged males died in WW2 compared to 40,000 Australians. If you don’t understand what impact that has on a nation’s ability to field a sporting team then there is nothing I can do to help you. Should we...

    England tour of Australia ODIs

No, you are right they have omitted Hales. Perhaps they just want to give Oz a chance.

    England tour of Australia ODIs

Hales is arguably a better opener than Bairstow. It was only his indiscretions with recreational drugs that has kept him out for so long. Hales’ record in Australia is much better than YJB’s.

Top 20 greatest batsmen of all time

It always amazes me how people can rank batsmen they have never watched against bowlers they have never watched. Stats don’t always paint an accurate picture. For example, Don Bradman’s stats look great but when you factor in the fact that he was largely playing against a nation who had their...

    Team of the tournament

I think Josh Little’s smart stats were a bit skewed by him playing the first round but he certainly deserves his spot. If I could choose between him and an unfit Afridi, then it is Little every time.

    England tour of Australia ODIs

This is my first thread posting here so forgive me if I’m doing it wrong. England’s tour of Australia has been quite successful so far. Would have whitewashed Australia in the T20 series if it wasn’t for the rain, won the T20 World Cup and will now face Oz in an ODI series. Will it be much...
