    SA Squad to Australia

So the Saffers plan is to have De Kock as the long term keeper. De Kock doesn't even keep for his domestic side, cus Thami in that side as well. Hard to groom someone as keeper, when they don't even keep at domestic level.

Can't believe Cricket Australia making Watson come back before the end of tournament. But all the other Test players get to stay. Oh well Super Dom to the rescue.

Harsh on Haddin if that is the way he goes out. But sooner or late you are going to have to look to the future.

It seems to be pretty common practice to have all six state sides playing during the A match. Its happened for the last couple years. Basically allows the selectors to have a look at as many players as possible. Only issue they always end resting the Test players, which defeats the purpose. I...

Australian bowling attacks are based on how fast you bowl, not bowling records. Faulkner not that far off ODI and T20I squads. If he scored more runs he would probably jump ahead of Dan Christian in the peaking order in Tests. Though as soon as Mitch Marsh can put two good games together he...

Vics in trouble here 5/64 in reply to 149. Finch got more runs in the OD match. Even with his performances last season, its strange call. I doubt he would have made a difference, can't recall too many big runs from him in seaming conditions. Always seem to be a bit of FTB.

I find it interesting that the selectors see Cruickshank as an opening batsmen, when he has played his whole career at Grade level at 3 and 4. Whereas Dawson who has opened for Tasmania is seen as middle order batsmen. Really should be the other way around. Good to see Patterson score some runs.

The worse bit for SA is they don't have many more options in their squad. Smith and Ross are the only other spare batsmen. Once Botha and Christian come in, their side doesn't look at bad. Also if George and Richardson aren't injured, it was a poor call to drop them.

The thing with Manly is we always lose our depth each season and replace those guys with other fringe players. In general Melbourne do the same, but I find it a bit strange they are able to sign the likes of Will Chambers and Ryan Hoffman this season and still stay under the cap. Those guys are...

They had three GFs before when they had 4pm GF. 10am first game 1am second game 4pm third game The only reason for night/twilight GF is for TV ratings. But seriously how many extra people are really going to not watch the GF is it starts at 4 not 5:30.

This is why you don't have Sunday night finals. Front rowers get hungry because they forced to have a late dinner, then they end up trying to eat little fullbacks. Bring back Sunday afternoon grand finals.

Haddin, Paine and Wade have been batting at six for most of their careers. Handscomb is batsmen who keeps, so it not surprising he bats in the top 6. If the other keepers could bat better, they would probably be batting at 6, unless the side has a batting all rounder.

So did Voges finally get dropped after years of average performances. Just need to drop North and Shaun Marsh and they might be able to beat a side that is not raped by Australian selections and injuries. Butterworth can't you score you twice a season 50/100 against someone else.
