    ***Official Australia in South Africa***

Dips was placed on a drip during our second innings. There was quite a bit of humidity but come on, how soft is he? Hate to see what playing in India might to do the lad, he'll prolly need one getting to the hotel from the airport..

    "Anyone but Little England"

You are stupid. It is obvious he is criticising Western culture as being zenophobic and insular.

    "Anyone but Little England"

I am not seeing it thru rosetinted glasses, as you are, thats the difference, that and you would love to see western culture consigned to the dustbin. That is your real agenda. I have no desire to debate this with you any longer.

I've never heard such a load of crap in all my life..

    "Anyone but Little England"

My take on that is that the "elites" (living in the wealthy enclaves and mansions) are removed from most of the effects of multiculturalism / immigration, and are thus happy to appear humanitarian (which is PC and fashionable) and support it, knowing that it won't affect their lives. It is also...

    "Anyone but Little England"

I am not sure why you live in Canada CC, if you're so thrilled and excited and enchanted by China or India. There is no need for western culture to appease the likes of you, you can go and live there if you're so uncomfortable in the West. If its so great that other countries "retain aspects...

AFAIC the race to cultural diversity is a race to the bottom. Soon enough you'll look around and have nothing in common with anybody. My 2c

    ***Official*** England in India

I predict an Eng win tomorrow. Hoggard and Panesar to be the chief destroyers with Fred chipping in, and perhaps Harmy if he gets it right. With the rough encroaching on the centre of the pitch seemingly by the minute, it should be pefect foil for Panesar and the quicks. Panesar btw looks to...

    Let's Make Fun of Srinath!!!

Nas is easily my fav commentator now. First i heard him commentate was in the pre-Ashes ODI and i was dissapointed he wasn't in Ashes comm lineup. Excellent analyser of captaincy, players mental states and always has a interesting fact at hand. In many ways is quite similar to M. Taylor. Would...

Were England lucky to win the Ashes in 2005 ? ?

It helps when the umps are snuffing out your opponents counterattacks for you..

Were England lucky to win the Ashes in 2005 ? ?

If Cameroon won the world cup but the other team had a player wrongly sent off and a goal incorrectly disallowed do they still deserve all the plaudits? No. No matter how big a fairytale victory it might be, the underdog must still win fair and square and off their own bat.

Were England lucky to win the Ashes in 2005 ? ?

The theory that small targets are more likely to give you the yips? Sure its happened to all sides esp Australia but i wouldn't hang my hat on it, not in this case anyway. A rampant Shane Warne had to be seen off, on a turning pitch too. The way he bowled you just can't leave him out of the...

Were England lucky to win the Ashes in 2005 ? ?

IMO any extra runs that Eng had to chase were worth double, so to speak. It was a horrenous decision, pitching a foot outside legstump and after a brilliant and chanceless? (close to) innings and well set. It was MASSIVE.

Atheron had his doubts. Snicko had the big thin sound (usually of the bat) coming first before the thickish one of the pad

What Lewis is doing there i don't know. Tait should have been flown over express delivery..

Were England lucky to win the Ashes in 2005 ? ?

Yes they were lucky. The Katich LB was the turning point of the series. The rest of the decisions against aus part. against Marto and Ponting were also crucial, but happened in a vacuum, as most of the Poms in here seem to think..Is that LE being a pompous git again, well i never

***Official*** Australian Domestic Season 2005/06 thread

Watching Gillespie bowl today convinced me his career is over. Quite seamer-friendly wicket, but you'd never know it watching Jason bowl..
